Active
Select this to set up a backup gateway in case the default gateway is not available.
(For example, this might happen if the Internet connection goes down.) Clear this if
you do not have a backup gateway.
Backup Gateway
IP Address
Enter the IP address of the backup gateway. The ZyXEL Device automatically
uses this gateway if the default gateway is not available anymore.
Check WAN IP
Address
Enter the IP address of a reliable nearby computer the ZyXEL Device uses to test
whether or not the default gateway is available anymore. For example, use one of
your ISP’s DNS server addresses.
If you enter 0.0.0.0, the test fails each time.
Fail Tolerance
Enter the number of consecutive times the ZyXEL Device may attempt and fail to
find the reliable nearby computer at
Check WAN IP Address
before it starts using
the backup gateway. 2 - 5 are typical choices.
Period (sec)
Enter the number of seconds between attempts to find the reliable nearby
computer at
Check WAN IP Address
. 5 - 60 are typical choices.
Timeout (sec)
Enter the number of seconds the ZyXEL Device waits for a response from the
reliable nearby computer at
Check WAN IP Address
before the attempt is a
failure. 3 - 50 are typical choices, but this number should be less than the

Apply
Click this to save your changes and to apply them to the ZyXEL Device.
Reset
Click this to set every field in this screen to its last-saved value.
