1.8 Accessing the UNS
1.8.1 Find the UNS with UNS Finder
The default IP setting for the UNS is to receive an IP address from a DHCP server. After you deploy
the UNS in your network, connect port 1 to a device in your network and use UNS Finder (a Java-
based tool) to find UNS devices within the same network.
Double-click the UNS Finder jar file to open it.
In some operating systems, you may need to unblock firewall access to the program.

The 1G port is connected at 1000 Mbps.
Off
The 1G port is connected at 10 Mbps or there is no connection.

The 10G port is connected at 10000 Mbps.
Blinking
The UNS is transmitting or receiving to/from an Ethernet device through
the 10G port at 10000 Mbps.
Yellow
On
The 10G port is connected at 1000 Mbps.
Blinking
The UNS is transmitting or receiving to/from an Ethernet device through
the 10G port at 1000 Mbps.
Off
The UNS is not transmitting or receiving to/from an Ethernet device
through the 10G port.
10G -
Link/Act
(Bottom)
Green
On
The 10G port is connected to a 10G device.
Off
The 10G port is not connected to a 10G device.
