AX777 GROUND SEARCH METAL DETECTOR
USER GUIDE
INTRODUCTION
The Adams model AX777 is a highly sensitive and accurate ground search metal detector. It has been
specifically designed to be sensitive for the detection of all metals, ferrous and non-ferrous, including
lead and alloys. The AX777 will detect “minimum” mass metal targets (0.03 grams or smaller),
comparable to our already highly successful “Ultra Series” and “AD Series” hand held metal detectors
and also has the ability to differentiate between large and small targets. For instance, a prolonged
audio/visual alarm indicates the presence of a larger target. With the detector set in the alternative
vibration alarm setting, the AX777 will give a prolonged and intense vi
bration to the operator’s hand for
a large target. A small target is indicated by a short audio/visual or less intense short vibration alarm.
FEATURES
THE ADAMS AX777 HAS THE FOLLOWING FEATURES:
1. 8 Inch (20.32cm) circular search head (probe base).
2. Locking telescopic height adjustment.
3. Joy-Stick handle grip.
4.
CONTROL PANEL
(situated on the top of the joy-stick)
(a)
Horizontal Rocker Switch
–
ON/OFF
(Turns the detector “On” and “Off”).
(b)
Vertical Rocker Switch
– A/V – VIB
(A/V: Selects the units Audio/Visual alarm) (Vib:
Selects the unit Vibration only Alarm).
(c)
Yellow Indicator Light
- Constantly monitors the battery power level. If the battery
power falls below the factory pre-set voltage level for the correct functioning of the
detector, the yellow light will illuminate and stay illuminated. The operator must
change the battery at this time.
(d)
Green Flashing Indicator light
-
When the AX777 is switched to the “ON” mode the
green indicator light will flash.
(e)
Red Alarm Indicator Light
– When the AX777 has detected a positive target, the
Red alarm indicator light will illuminate. This light will
not
illuminate when the detector
is in the “Vibration” mode.
(f)
Sensitivity Adjustment Knob
– Adjusts the detectors sensitivity to target size and
ground soil type.
5.
9 Volt Battery Drawer
– Situated underneath the operators elbow support at the far end of the
detector.
