Changes to Allied Telesis Fiber Network Adapter Cards
Preface
Allied Telesis is committed to the environment, and as such, is continually attempting
to reduce our carbon footprint and product packaging, and help reduce recycling
waste. Towards this effort, we are making a number of changes to the way we
package the Fiber Network Adapter Cards.
Packaging
Current, Allied Telesis has two package sizes, being a retail single pack, and a bulk 20
pack. These will continue to be sold until existing inventory is exhausted. All new
manufacturing will only be in a new “multi single-pack” package.
The new packaging consists of an oversize recycled cardboard box, containing 20
new single packs.
The new single packs will each will contain a single Network Interface Card, and
where appropriate, an alternative mounting bracket. We have removed the manual,
Driver CD, and Wake-on-LAN cable

from the packaging.
Changes to the Card
Many of our Fiber Network Adapter Cards can be installed using either a full height,
or half height bracket. Cards have historically shipped with the full height bracket
attached to the card, and the half height bracket being loose in the box. Feedback
from customers has determined that the majority of the market are now installing
the cards in low profile computers. We are therefore changing the manufacture of
our cards, to have the half height bracket fitted as standards, and the full height
bracket being included in the box.
Ordering
In future, all new cards must be ordered from Allied Telesis in multiples of 20, as this
is the size of the oversize box. Distributors and Resellers can then ship either the
oversize box (20 cards), or the individual new single pack to their customers.

motherboards do not use this cable.
