Installing your water filter

•  It is normal for black carbon particles to appear on the outside of your filter. This

happens when the filter is moved during shipping. It is safe, simply wipe them off.

1

Shut off the water supply, then turn off the water shutoff valve on your

refrigerator.

2

Locate the filter holder in the back upper right-hand corner of the refrigerator. To

open the filter cover, push in where indicated and the cover will drop down.

3

Remove the old filter by slowly rotating it counter-clockwise. A small amount of

water may drip down.

Note

: When you pull out the water filter, a little water may leak from the opening. This is

normal. To minimize the water leakage, keep the filter horizontal when you pull it out.

4

Insert the new filter into the water filter holder.

5

Slowly turn the new filter clockwise until it stops. The filter will click and lock into

place.

Note:

The filter connectors are large to prevent leaks. You might have to twist the filter hard

to make sure that the connection is secure.

6

  Close the filter cover.

Turn on the water supply and run water through the dispenser for about five
minutes at 0.5 gpm (about 2.5 gallons or 9.5 L) to remove any trapped air and clear
the system.

 CAUTION:

This filter should not be used with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of

unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.

8

Open the refrigerator door and make sure that no water leaks from the new filter.

Note

: If leaks occur, repeat the installation steps. If leaks persist, discontinue use and call

customer service.

WARNING:

To reduce the risk of property damage due to water leakage, this filter MUST be

installed in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications and instructions. This filter unit
must be replaced every 200 gallons (757 L) or 6 months. Failure to follow instructions and
operating specifications will void your warranty. Further, the manufacturer assumes no
responsibility or liability for damages arising out of misuse of the product.
