Description.

The

WSD10TGII

  is  a  datalogger  with  4  input  channels  to  acquire  mechanical  schock,  inclination  and  temperature,  with  storage

functionality of samples acquired.

2.

“Sentry” feature.

The

WSD10TGII

’s  main  feature  is  to  measure  landslides  and  or  avalanches  strikes  against  protection  barriers:  when  the

acceleration, measured on channel 2 of the

datalogger

,  exceeds  a user-set threshold, the

WSD10TGII

 sends immediately to the

basestation

 the information of “threshold trespass” and related warning.

This information can be later processed according to the

basestation

 model whose the

datalogger

 is enrolled.

For models provided with ModBus communication protocol (

MWDG-MB, MWLI-MB, MWLI-MB-4AO

), the information can be picked-

up directly on the ModBus register and managed through third party external intelligence (

PLC, PC, ecc.

).

Concerning  the

MWLI-MB-4AO  basestation

,  the  received  information  let  the

basestation

  to  immediately  close  either  relay

equipped onboard and physically  turn on an external alarm device.

Please note:

the

datalogger

 must not be installed upside down, with ±180° tilt because the result means a discontinuity point and data

acquired are wrong;

the

datalogger

  stores  an  acceleration  value  of  0  G  when  in  static  position.  During  the  threshold  setup,  the  gravity

acceleration  must  be  considered  and  it’s  divided  by  three  axis  if  the

datalogger

  installation  is  not  perfectly  vertical.

Evaluating the tilt values, gravity force vector distribution can be rised again;

the acceleration threshold must be set as “higher” and must have a minimum value of 1.1G. This value takes in account
that the gravity acceleration constant is always present. The value is internally compared with accelerations measured on
three  axis  and,  in  case  of  threshold  value  excess  even  just  one  axis,  the

datalogger

  sends  the  event  warning  every  30

seconds until the end of warning condition, warning condition event included;

the warning value is the maximum value acquired sampling at 100Hz on three axis.
