The DataPort 4 Bay Hard Drive Enclosure supports up to four (4)
SATA hard drives or 5.25” SATA devices. The DataPort Enclosures
require a multi-lane cable with an SFF-8470 InfiniBand connector
NOTE:
The DataPort Enclosure does not include the re-
quired external enclosure to host cable.
The DataPort Enclosure supports two different multi-lane
cables, the SFF-8470 (InfiniBand) to SFF-8470 (InfiniBand)
cable (CRU PN 7366-700-03) or the SFF-8470 (InfiniBand) to
SFF-8088 (Mini-SAS) cable (CRU PN 7366-701-01). Consult
your host bus adapter manual to determine which interface
it supports.
For internal host support CRU offers a cable assembly kit.
The 4x SATA to SFF-8470 (InfiniBand) PCI host adapter
with four (4) SATA data cables and SFF-8470 (InfiniBand)
to SFF-8470 (InfiniBand) external cable (CRU part number
7100-800-10) will provide the end to end cabling required to
set up the DataPort Enclosure.

The DataPort® 4 Bay SATA Hard Drive Enclosure allows users
to add up to 4 SATA devices to their host computers. The exter-
nal enclosure supports hard drives, DVD-ROMs, 5.25” Blue Ray
Players, Tape Backup Units and other 5.25” SATA devices. The
DataPort 4 Bay SATA Hard Drive Enclosure provides users with
a robust solution to add SATA devices to their computer without
using internal 3.5” or 5.25” drive bays.
Hard Drive Installation
Use the provided hard drive mounting rails, to add a 3.5” hard
drive.
1.Install the hard drive in the rails then install the rails in the
enclosure.
2.Connect the SATA data cable to the hard drive.
3.Connect the power cable to the hard drive. If needed, use the
ATX to SATA Power Adapters.
For other 5.25” devices, remove the front bezel of the enclosure
and secure the device in place. Connect the SATA data cable and
the appropriate power cable.
Enclosure Setup Instructions
1. Power off the host computer.
2. Connect the host computer to the DataPort enclosure with an
external multi-lane cable (not provided).
3. Power on the DataPort enclosure with the power button
located on the lower right front corner of the enclosure. For best
results, power on the enclosure prior to powering on the host
system.
