CAUTION: Install at your own risk.  Professional installation 

is recommended. Installation requires climbing and working 

at dangerous heights, including ladders, scaffolding, roofs 

and attic spaces.  Risk of personal injury and property 

damage may result from a fall or from falling objects. Use 

extreme caution to minimize risk of accidental injury. 
•  This product has sharp metal edges that can cut your hands. 

Wear gloves while handling the fan during installation.

•  Wear non-restrictive clothing and rubber-soled, non-slip 

shoes with good ankle support.

•  Use only strong, well supported ladders.
•  Only work on the roof in dry, calm weather.
•  When on the roof, be aware of your footing. Watch and check 

for slippery or loose shingles as well as rotten substrate mate-

rial that could give way if you step on it.

•  When in the attic, ensure that your weight is supported at all 

times with structurally sound framing; drywall material is not 

designed to carry weight. Wear a mask or respirator to avoid 

lung irritation. 

•  To reduce risk of fire, electric shock and personal injury;  

basic safety precautions should always be used when using 

power tools, including wearing safety glasses or other suitable 

eye protection. Ensure that the work area is clear of all electri-

cal wires, gas lines, water pipes and other obstacles.

•  Avoid power lines and TV antennas.
•  Keep children and pets away from the area, in case any loose 

debris falls from the roof during installation.

Thermal switch: Controls the fan. When attic temperatures reach 

85˚ F (29˚ C), the fan turns on. When temperatures drop below  

65˚ F (18˚ C), the fan shuts off.
