Diese Anweisungen und das mit diesem Produkt mitgelieferte Anschlussdiagramm
dienen dem korrekten Einbau des Produktes in die angegebene Dentaleinheit.
Diese Anweisungen sind zur Anforderungserfüllung unbedingt zu befolgen.
Dieses Produkt darf nur durch vom Hersteller autorisierte qualifizierte Techniker
in die Dentaleinheit eingebaut werden. Es liegt in der Verantwortung der die
Installation durchführenden Person, die Dentaleinheit gemäß der geltenden
Standards zu planen und zusammenzubauen, die Einheit einem geeigneten
Umfeld abschließend zu testen und den Anwender in dessen Bedienung im
Rahmen der Dentaleinheit einzuweisen.

NFORMATION
Der P18 ist ein Ultraschall-Generator für dentales Scaling der vollständig mit
den EMS Piezon
®
Handstücken kompatibel ist.
Der P18 ist gemäß den Standards für elektrische Sicherheit EN 60601-1
einschließlich der Abweichungen für die USA und Kanada
(CB-Certifi-
cates EN 60601-1, ANSI/AAMI ES STD 60601-1, CAN/CSA STD C22.2
NO.60601-1)
zugelassen.
Durch die elektromagnetischen Konformitätsstandards
EN 60601-1-2
ist es
gewährleistet, dass dieser Ultraschall-Generator nicht die EMC (elektromag-
netische Kompatibilität) dieser Einheit stört. Die Tests wurden ohne zusätzliche
Komponenten erfolgreich bestanden.
Für die Einhaltung der Konformität mit diesem Standard ist die Verwendung
eines EN 60601-1 konformen Netzgerätes sowie von EMS genehmigten Hand-
stücken erforderlich.
Der P18 kann ohne weitere Überprüfungen des Generators in die Dentalein-
heiten eingebaut werden.

UFSTELLUNG
Bauen Sie den Ultraschall-Generator unter Verwendung der mitgelieferten
Komponenten in die Dentaleinheit ein. Stellen Sie den Ultraschall-Generator an
einem gut belüfteten Platz und in sicherer Entfernung zu jeder Art von Wärme-
quellen auf. Der Ultraschall-Generator muss an einem trockenen Ort aufgestellt
werden, da sein Gehäuse nicht gegen Wasser oder Flüssigkeiten schützt.

NSCHLÜSSE
Bitte befolgen Sie das von EMS gelieferte genaue Anschlussdiagramm für
die angegebene Dentaleinheit.
Handstückschlauch
Es wird empfohlen, an der Dentaleinheit eine Steckverbindung für den
Handstückschlauch zu verwenden. Stellen Sie eine direkte Verbindung
zwischen der Steckverbindung und dem Wasserzulauf der Dentaleinheit
her. Das Anti-Ausdehnungsband muss auf der Seite der Einheit fest mit
der Steckverbindung verbunden werden. Wenn Sie keine Steckverbindung
verwenden, dann muss das Anti-Ausdehnungsband an der Dentaleinheit
befestigt werden.

Gegenanzeigen: Ultraschallschwingungen können die Funktionstüch-
tigkeit von Herzschrittmachern und Defibrillatoren beeinträchtigen. EMS
empfiehlt daher, dass Patienten mit einem Herzschrittmacher nicht mit
diesem Produkt behandelt werden.
Explosionsrisiko: Verwenden Sie dieses Produkt nicht in Gegenwart

INSTALLATION

Le P18 est un générateur d’ultrasons pour le détartrage totalement com-

EMS.
Le P18 est homologué en accord avec les normes de sécurité électriques

l’utilisation de pièces à main et de cordons EMS sont requis afin de main-
tenir la compatibilité avec cette norme.
Le P18 peut être installé dans les unités dentaires sans investigations
concernant le générateur lui même.

ISPOSITION
Installer le générateur d’ultrasons dans l’unité dentaire en utilisant le ma-
tériel fourni. Placer le générateur d’ultrasons dans une zone ventilée et
éloignée de toute source de chaleur. Le générateur d’ultrasons doit être
installé dans une zone non humide car son boîtier ne le protège pas contre
l’eau et les liquides.

RANCHEMENTS
Respecter le diagramme de connexion spécifique fourni par EMS pour
l’unité dentaire spécifiée.
Cordon de pièce à main
Il est recommandé de prévoir un connecteur sur l’unité dentaire pour le
cordon de pièce à main. Installer une connexion directe entre le connecteur
et l’arrivée d’eau de l’unité dentaire. Le câble anti-arrachement du cordon
doit être fixé solidement au connecteur du cordon, coté unité dentaire, ou
à l’unité dentaire dans les cas où un connecteur n’est pas utilisé.

LA
SÉCURITÉ
EMS ne peut être tenu responsable d’éventuels préjudices directs et indi-
rects résultant d’une installation ou d’un maniement incorrect en particulier
liés à un non respect des instructions EMS ou à une préparation et un
entretien incorrect.
Ce produit ne doit être installé et utilisé que par un personnel qualifié
et formé. Il doit être exclusivement réparé par un centre de réparation
agréé EMS.
Ne pas tenter de réparer ou modifier ce produit sans le consentement
du fabricant.
Contre-indications: le fonctionnement correct des stimulateurs car-
diaques et des défibrillateurs peut être perturbé par les oscillations ul-
trasoniques à haute fréquences. EMS recommande de ne pas traiter les
patients porteurs de stimulateurs cardiaques avec ce produit.
Risque d’explosion: Ne pas utiliser ce produit en présence d’anesthé-
siques ou de gaz inflammables.
Risque de chocs électriques pour le patient ou l’utilisateur: ce produit
doit être connecté à une alimentation électrique conforme, autrement sa
sécurité et son fonctionnement ne sont pas garantis.
Ce produit a fait l’objet d’une étude concernant les risques de choc
électrique et d’incendie. ETL (Electrical Testing Laboratories) n’a pas étudié
les effets physiologiques.
La garantie de votre produit sera annulée si vous essayez de l’ouvrir.
Les vis sur le boîtier du générateur ne doivent en aucun cas être touchées.

INSTRUCTIONS
These instructions with the specific connecting diagram delivered with this
product are designed to ensure its correct integration into the specified
dental unit. They must be followed to meet all applicable requirements.
The product must only be built in the dental unit by qualified technicians
authorized by its manufacturer. It is the installer’s responsibility to design
and assemble the dental unit according to applicable standards, to conduct
final testing in the appropriate environment, and to deliver information how
to use the product as a feature of the dental unit.

NFORMATION
The P18 is an ultrasonic generator for dental scaling fully compatible with
the EMS Piezon
®
handpieces.
The P18 is homologated according to the standards for electrical security
EN 60601-1 including the deviations for United States and Canada (CB-
Certificates EN 60601-1, ANSI/AAMI ES STD 60601-1, CAN/CSA STD
C22.2 NO.60601-1).
According to the electromagnetic conformity standards EN 60601-1-2 this
ultrasonic generator is guaranteed not to disturb the EMC of the unit. The
tests were passed without need of additional component.
Use of an EN 60601-1 conform power supply as well as the use of EMS
approved handpieces and cords are required to retain the conformity with
this standard.
The P18 can be built-in dental units without further investigation about the
generator itself.

AYOUT
Install the ultrasonic generator into the dental unit using the hardware
provided. Place the ultrasonic generator in a ventilated area and away
from any heat source. The ultrasonic generator must be installed in a dry
zone as its housing does not provide protection against water or liquids.

ONNECTIONS
Please follow the specific connecting diagram delivered by EMS for the
specified dental unit.
Handpiece cord
It is recommended to provide a connector on the dental unit for the hand-
piece cord. Install a direct connection between the connector and the dental
unit water inlet. The anti-extension string must be securely tied up to the
connector, on unit side, or to the dental unit if a connector is not used.

RECAUTIONS
EMS accepts no liability for direct or consequential injury or damage re-
sulting from improper installation or use arising in particular through non-
observance of EMS instructions or improper preparation and maintenance.
This product must only be installed and used by trained and qualified
personnel. It must exclusively be repaired by an approved EMS repair center.
Do not attempt to repair or modify this product without an authoriza-
tion from the manufacturer.
Contraindications: ultrasonic oscillations may prevent cardiac pace-
makers and defibrillators functioning properly. EMS recommends that
patients with a cardiac pacemaker should not be treated with this product.
Risk of explosion: Do not use this product in the presence of anesthet-
ics or inflammable gas.
Risk of electric shock for the patient or the user: This product must
only be connected to the correct power supply, otherwise its safety and
correct operation cannot be guaranteed.
This product has been investigated with regard to safety from electri-
cal shock and fire hazard. ETL (Electrical Testing Laboratories) has not
investigated other physiological effects.
The warranty of this product will be cancelled if you try to open it.
The screws on the generator housing must under no circumstance be
tampered with.
