Overview
Paradigm P-TS7 Portable Touchscreens offer a flexible way to remotely control your Paradigm
control system over either an Ethernet connection (P-TS7-PE) or a LON connection (P-TS7-P). The
graphic touchscreen display configuration is designed using Paradigm ControlDesigner software
and can be customized to meet your installation needs.
The P-TS7-PE is provided with a RJ45 to etherCON
®
cable that connects the touchscreen to a
compatible Power over Ethernet (PoE 802.3af) network port that is also connected to the Paradigm
control system.
The P-TS7-P is provided with a 5 m (16 ft) cable that connects the touchscreen to a Unison portable
receptacle station (UH1RS), available separately.
Connect the Touchscreen
Preparations
Before your portable touchscreen binds to the Paradigm system, additional preparations are
required which are different according to the touchscreen model.
Model P-TS7-PE
Model P-TS7-P
• Add the P-TS7 touchscreen to the configured
space in the LightDesigner configuration.
• Set the
Portable Wired
property of the
P-TS7-PE station to "Yes: Ethernet" in
LightDesigner.
• Add the portable receptacle station (UH1RS) and
P-TS7 touchscreen to the configured Space in the
LightDesigner configuration.
• The P-TS7-P must be enabled for use with the
UH1RS. This is set using the "Yes: Connector
List" option in the
Portable Wired
property of the
LightDesigner property editor for the
touchscreen device. You can enable a P-TS7-P for
use on more than one UH1RS in a system. The
touchscreen configuration and theme can be
different for each touchscreen and portable
receptacle station instance depending on the
assignments in the configured space.
• The portable receptacle station's physical ID
(listed on a label found on the front of the station
under the faceplate), must be associated with the
configured station in LightDesigner. This ID must
be manually entered into the "Connector
ROM" property in the LightDesigner property
editor. This is the recommended method to avoid
manual binding of the station at the Paradigm
Processor (P-ACP).
For both models:
Upload the LightDesigner configuration to the system processors including the Paradigm Processor
(P-ACP) and the Paradigm Central Control Processor (Server Project only). See the
LightDesigner
online help system
for details on uploading a configuration to the system.
