Gerber P2C™ Plotters Site Requirements
Dear Gerber P2C Plotter Customer,
Thank you for purchasing a Gerber P2C 600, 1200, or 1600 plotter.
The information in this document is extremely important because it specifies the requirements
your facility must meet in order to properly install the Gerber P2C plotter. It is also important
that you complete the Site Preparation Checklist (the last page of this document) and return it to
Gerber Service so that they can schedule the installation of your Gerber P2C plotter. Please
carefully review the information in this document and checklist so that when your Gerber P2C
plotter arrives, the installation will go smoothly and you can start printing jobs quickly and
efficiently. You must review and complete the following items described in this document to

Computer requirements
You can output jobs to the Gerber P2C plotters using GERBER OMEGA or other compatible
graphics software.
These requirements are minimums for OMEGA CP or CS; for best results, Gerber recommends
you to use the largest hard disk and most RAM possible. System operations such as redraw and
rendering speeds improve significantly as the computer hardware exceeds the minimum
requirements listed below. More free space allows you to work with larger image files and gives
more room to store existing jobs. Faster computers and more RAM can save significant time
during the day as you use GERBER OMEGA.
The Gerber P2C plotters can be connected to your computer using USB, serial, or parallel (P2C
1600 only) cables/ports. Depending on your chosen configuration, your computer requirements
for the number of available ports may differ. See “Connection requirements” on page 2 for
detailed information.
