Rewind Winch
The Radial Rewind Electric Winch is a powered winch
operating in two modalities: STANDARD mode and
REWIND mode. It features a red knob on winch base to
turn on the Standard - Rewind function.
NOTICE: To select the winch mode turn the knob of
180° only when the winch is not working.
NOTICE: After turning the knob on the Rewind mode,
push the trim (second speed) button to disengage the
winch pawls and activate the Rewind function. To use
the rewind function use the first speed button.
NOTICE: The ease function in the Rewind mode works
only if there is a minimum load of 10 Kg on the line.
NOTICE: Activate the winch only if the knob is in one
of the two positions indicated below.
NOTICE: Before using the winch, check the knob
position to know the winch modality.
Rewind mode – 1 speed Winch
In Rewind mode the drum turns (clockwise and counter
clockwise) with the same velocity of the second speed (in
Standard mode).
The Rewind mode is available only for powered use: to trim
activate the second speed button on the deck, to ease
activate the first speed button on the deck.
MAINTENANCE

Washing
Winches must be washed frequently with fresh water, and
in any case after each usage.
Clean the stainless steel parts only with Harken®
products: Stainless Steel Cleaner BK 4522 and Winch
Polish for all metal surfaces BK 4520.
Do not allow teak cleaning products or other cleaning
substances containing caustic solutions to come into
contact with the winch and in particular with anodized,
chromed or plastic winch components.
In particular do not use solvents, polishes or abrasive
pastes on the logos and stickers on the winch.
Make sure that the drainage holes in the base of the winch are
not obstructed to avoid water collecting in the winch base.
Maintenance table
Winches must be visually inspected at the beginning and
end of each sailing or racing season.
They must be completely overhauled, cleaned and
lubricated at least every 12 months. After inspection
replace any worn or damaged components.
For assembly and disassembly, refer to the Maintenance
Manual.
WARNING! Periodic maintenance must be carried
out on a regular basis. Lack of adequate maintenan-
ce shortens the life of the winch and may cause
serious accidents, apart from rendering the winch
warranty invalid.
Winches must always be installed and maintained
exclusively by specialised personnel.

WARNING! Using the winch demands a few
important precautions:
• Do not use Harken® winches if you are not sufficiently
trained and experienced in sailing generally and in the use
of equipment in particular.
• Keep your fingers, hands, any loose clothing, gloves and
tools away from moving parts and in particular avoid them
coming between the line and the winch.
• Before using the winches make sure that all people and
objects are clear of the movement of the reacting
components of the system.
• Take particular care when releasing the line under load.
• If the winch is not in use, put the handle in a safe place.
• DO NOT use the winch for hauling, mooring the boat or
weighing the anchor.
• DO NOT apply a load greater than the maximum working
load MWL (Maximum Working Load) of the winch.
• Take at least three turns of line round the winch drum, in
the direction in which the drum rotates . For high loads,
take an additional turn. For self-tailing winches Radial, to
ensure correct functioning of the self-tailing mechanism
the number of turns taken round the drum must not
hamper the movement of the lower self-tailing jaw. The
more turns taken, the lower the load the user has to handle
(fig.2).
• Do not take turns round the base of the winch drum
(fig.2).
• Do not use the winch to turn a line to another winch
(cross-sheeting).

KURZE BESCHREIBUNG

Die Rewind Winsch kann hoch belastete Schot in beiden
Richtungen holen/fieren ohne diese je aus dem Self-Tailer zu
nehmen. Sie funktioniert ganz wie eine standard Harken
2-Gang Winsch - rasches Holen im ersten Gang, viel Zug im
zweiten. Wenn aber 'Rewind' aktiviert ist, kann diese Winsch
die Schot fieren ohne dass die Crew zur Winsch gehen muss
um manuell von der Trommel zu fieren. Nutzen Sie die
Rewind Winsch um hoch belastete Fock- und Gross-Schot
zu trimmen, wie auch zum Setzen und Fieren von Fallen.

Arbeits-Lasten
ACHTUNG! Legen Sie niemals eine Last an, die höher
ist als die Maximale Arbeits-Last (MAL) der Winsch.
Kompatible Leine
Die Harken® Rewind Winsch hat einen Feder-Arm der die
Leine an der Winsch hält. Er passt sich automatisch an
folgende Leinen-Ø an.
ACHTUNG! Verwenden Sie ausschliesslich Leine mit
Durchmesser in den oben genannten Grenzen.
Verwenden Sie NIE Draht, Kette oder Leine die nicht
für marine Anwendungen zugelassen ist.

ZULÄSSIGE VERWENDUNG

Die Harken Rewind Winsch ist ausschliesslich ausgelegt
für den normalen Einsatz mit laufendem Gut an Bord von
Segelbooten. Für jeden anderen Einsatz konsultieren Sie
den Winschen-Abschnitt auf der Harken Website.
Hinweise zum Gebrauch
ACHTUNG! Vor dem Anlegen einer Last: überzeugen
Sie sich vom richtigen Funktionieren der Winsch.
1. Legen Sie mindestens drei Windungen um die Trommel
2. Legen Sie die letzte Windung auf den Stripper-Arm
3. Führen Sie die letzte Windung zwischen die self-tailing
Backen, dann durch die Kerbe im Feder-Arm
(Siehe fig.1)
Rewind Winsch
Die Elektrische Radial Rewind Winsch ist eine angetriebene
Winsch mit zwei Arbeitsweisen: STANDARD Modus und
REWIND Modus. Sie hat an der Basis einen roten Drehknopf um
die Standard oder 'Rewind' Funktion ein- oder auszuschalten.

HINWEIS: Zum Wählen des Modus, den Schalter
nur drehen wenn die Winsch nicht in Betrieb ist.

Rewind – 1-Gang Winsch
Im Rewind Modus dreht die Trommel in beiden Richtungen mit
der Geschwindigkeit des zweiten Gangs im Standard Modus.
Der Rewind Modus steht nur im angetriebenen Betrieb zur
Verfügung: zum Holen den Knopf für den zweiten Gang an Deck
aktivieren, zum Fieren, den Knopf für den ersten Gang drücken.

DESCRIZIONE SINTETICA

Il Rewind Winch permette di lascare e cazzare le vele in
entrambe le direzioni senza mai togliere la cima dal
self-tailing. Funziona in maniera analoga ad un winch Harken
standard a 2 velocità-velocità cazzata in prima marcia e
maggiore potenza in seconda. Attivando la modalità Rewind
sarà il winch a lascare la cima senza che sia necessario che lo
faccia manualmente un membro dell’equipaggio agendo sulla
campana. Il Rewind Winch può essere utilizzato per regolare

Carico d’uso
ATTENZIONE! Non applicare un carico maggiore del
carico di lavoro massimo MWL (Maximum Working
Load) del winch.
Cime compatibili
L’espulsore del Rewind Winch, realizzato in microfusione,
in acciaio inox e dotato di molle precaricate, manteniene la
cima vincolata. Le semipulegge precaricate con molle si
adattano automaticamente ai seguenti diametri delle cime.
ATTENZIONE! Utilizzare esclusivamente cime con
diametro compreso nell’intervallo indicato. NON
utilizzare cavi metallici, catene ovvero cime non
approvate per uso nautico.

ATTENZIONE! Leggere attentamente, comprendere

ATTENZIONE! L’utilizzo del winch richiede poche ma
importanti precauzioni:
• Non utilizzare il winch Harken® se non si possiede un
livello sufficiente di formazione ed esperienza nel settore
della vela in generale e nell’uso dell’attrezzatura in
particolare.
• Tenere le dita, le mani, i capelli, gli indumenti non
aderenti, i guanti e gli utensili lontani dalle parti in
movimento ed in particolar modo evitare che si
interpongano tra la cima ed il winch.
• Prima di utilizzare il winch assicurarsi che tutte le persone
e gli oggetti siano al di fuori del percorso seguito da tutte le
componenti di reazione del sistema nel loro movimento.
• Prestare particolare attenzione nella fase di rilascio della
cima in presenza del carico.
• Se non si utilizza il winch, riporre la maniglia in luogo sicuro.
• NON utilizzare il winch per il tonneggio, per ormeggiare
l’imbarcazione o per alare l’ancora.
• NON applicare un carico maggiore del MWL (Maximum
Working Load) del winch.
• Avvolgere almeno tre colli sul tamburo del winch, nel
senso di rotazione del tamburo stesso. In presenza di
carichi elevati, aggiungere un ulteriore collo. Al fine di
garantire il corretto funzionamento del Self Tailing, il
numero di colli massimo non deve limitare la mobilità della
semipuleggia inferiore. Maggiore è il numero di colli,

MANUTENZIONE
_______________________________________________
Lavaggio
I winch devono essere lavati frequentemente con acqua
dolce, e comunque dopo ogni utilizzo. Pulire le parti in acciaio
inox solo con i prodotti Harken®: Stainless Steel Cleaner BK
4522 e il Winch Polish for all metal surface BK 4520.
Evitare il contatto dei prodotti per la pulizia del teak e di
altre sostanze pulenti contenenti soluzioni caustiche con i
winch e in particolare con i componenti anodizzati, cromati
e plastici dei winch. In particolare non utilizzare Solventi,
Polish e paste abrasive sui loghi e gli adesivi presenti sui
winch. Assicurarsi che i fori di drenaggio posti nella base
del winch non siano ostruiti, onde evitare la stagnazione
dell’acqua nella base del winch.
Tabella Manutenzione
I winch devono essere ispezionati visivamente all’inizio e
alla fine di ogni stagione di navigazione/regate.
Inoltre essi devono essere interamente revisionati, puliti e
lubrificati almeno ogni 12 mesi. In seguito all’ispezione
effettuata sostituire i componenti usurati o danneggiati.
Fare riferimento al Maintenance Manual per le operazione
di montaggio e smontaggio
ATTENZIONE! La manutenzione periodica deve
essere effettuata regolarmente. La mancanza di
un’adeguata manutenzione riduce il ciclo di vita del
winch, può provocare gravi incidenti oltre a rendere
non applicabile la garanzia del winch stesso.
L’installazione e la manutenzione dei winch devono
essere eseguite esclusivamente da personale

Il Rewind Winch Harken® è progettato e costruito per
essere utilizzato su imbarcazioni a vela per regolare le scotte,
le drizze e le manovre correnti delle vele. Per ogni altro
utilizzo, consultare la sezione winch sul sito web Harken®.
Istruzioni d’uso
ATTENZIONE! Verificare il corretto funzionamento
del winch, prima di applicarvi un carico.
1. Avvolgere almeno 3 colli intorno al tamburo del winch
2. Appoggiare l’estremità della cima sulla staffa del self-tailing
3. Inserire l’ultimo collo nelle semipulegge del self-tailing
e poi all’interno della sede dell’espulsore
(Vedere figura 1)
Rewind Winch
Il Rewind Winch è un verricello motorizzato utilizzabile in
due modalità: STANDARD e REWIND. Sulla gonna del
winch è presente un selettore rosso che permette di
attivare la funzione Standard e la funzione Rewind.
ATTENZIONE! Per selezionare la modalità di utilizzo
ruotare il selettore di 180° e solo quando il winch
non è in funzione.
ATTENZIONE! Dopo aver ruotato il selettore in
modalità Rewind, premere il il pulsante di cazzata
(seconda velocità) per disinnescare i nottolini e
attivare la funzione Rewind. Per utilizzare la funzione
Rewind premere il pulsante della prima velocità.
ATTENZIONE! In modalità Rewind, la funzione di
lascata funziona solo se sulla cima è presente un
carico minimo di 10 Kg.
ATTENZIONE! Azionare il winch solo se il selettore è
posizionato in una delle due posizioni indicate nella
figura sottostante.
ATTENZIONE! Prima di azionare il winch verificare la
posizione del selettore per conoscere la funzione attiva.
Modalità Rewind – 1 velocità
In modalità Rewind il tamburo del winch ruota (in senso
orario e antiorario) con la stessa velocità di rotazione della
seconda velocità (in Standard mode).
La modalità Rewind è disponibile solo utilizzando il
verricello motorizzato: per cazzare premere il pulsante
della seconda velocità sulla coperta; per lascare premere il
pulsante della prima velocità.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

The Rewind Winch can ease and trim highly-loaded sails in
both directions without ever taking the line out of the
self-tailer. It works no differently than a standard Harken
2-speed winch—fast trimming in first gear and more
power in second. But, activate the Rewind, and this winch
will ease the sheet without requiring you or your crew to go
to the winch and manually ease the sheet from the drum.
Use the Rewind Winch to trim highly-loaded jibs and
mainsheets and to raise and lower halyards. For further

Working loads
WARNING! Never apply a load greater than the

Compatible line
The Harken® Rewind Winch has spring-loaded arm of
investment-cast stainless Steel that keeps line captive. It
adapts automatically to the following line diameters.
WARNING! Use only line of a diameter between the
above limits. DO NOT use wire rope, chain or line
not approved for marine use.

PERMITTED USE

The Harken® Rewind is designed and built to be used on
sailing boats to control sheets, halyards and related sail
and rig systems. For any other usage, consult the winch
section on the Harken® web site.
Usage instructions
WARNING! Make sure the winch is working properly
before applying a load.
1.Take at least three turns of line round the winch drum
2. Lead the final turn on the stripper arm
3. Pass the final turn in the self-tailing jaws and then
trough the peeler groove.

Kurbel an einem sicheren Ort.
• Die Winsch NICHT zum Schleppen, Vertäuen des Bootes
oder zum Lichten des Ankers verwenden.
• NIEMALS eine Last anlegen, welche die maximale Arbeits
Last (MAL) der Winsch überschreitet.
• Mindestens drei Windungen der Leine auf die Trommel
legen, in Drehrichtung der Trommel. Für hohe Lasten legen
Sie eine zusätzliche Windung. Bei selbstholenden Radial
Winschen muss sichergestellt sein, dass die freie
Bewegung der unteren Backe des self-tailing Mechanismus
nicht durch zu viele Windungen auf der Trommel
eingeschränkt wird. Je mehr Windungen auf der Trommel,
desto geringer die Kraft, die zum Halten der Schot
aufgebracht werden muss (fig.2).
• Keine Windung um den Sockel der Winsch legen (fig.2).
• Die Winsch nicht zum Umlenken einer Schot auf eine
weitere Winsch verwenden (cross-sheeting).

Waschen
Winschen sollten oft, mindestens nach jedem Gebrauch
mit Süsswasser gespült werden.
Die rostfreien Komponenten nur mit Harken® Produkten
reinigen: Stainless Steel Cleaner BK 4522, und Winch
Polish BK 4520 für alle Metall Flächen.
Vermeiden Sie den Kontakt der Winsch mit
Teak-Pflegemitteln, ätzenden Reinigern oder anderen
ätzenden Lösungen; besonders gefährdet sind eloxierte
und verchromte Teile, sowie Kunststoff Komponenten.
Insbesondere keine Lösungsmittel, Politur oder aggressive
Pasten auf Logos und Aufklebern der Winsch anwenden.

vermeiden stellen Sie sicher, dass die Drainage Öffnungen

Charges de travail
AVERTISSEMENT: respectez impérativement la
charge de travail maximale du winch (MWL).
Cordages compatibles
Le winch Rewind Harken® possède un bras sur ressort en
acier inoxydable qui maintient le cordage. Il s’adapte
automatiquement aux diamètres de cordage suivants.
AVERTISSEMENT: utilisez exclusivement des cordages
dont le diamètre est conforme aux valeurs spécifiées.
N’employez JAMAIS de filins, chaînes ou cordages non
destinés à un usage marin.

Le winch Rewind Harken® est conçu pour le réglage des
écoutes et des drisses ainsi que pour celui des voiles et du
gréement associés des voiliers. Pour toute autre

Instructions d’utilisation
AVERTISSEMENT : avant toute utilisation, assurez-vous du
bon fonctionnement du winch.
1. Réalisez au moins trois tours de cordage autour de la
poupée.
2. Faites passer le dernier tour sur le doigt de self-tailing.
3. Insérez le cordage entre les mâchoires du mécanisme de
self-tailing, puis dans la gorge du bras de décrochage.

Winch Rewind
Le winch Radial Rewind à motorisation électrique présente
deux modes de fonctionnement : STANDARD et REWIND.
Un bouton rouge situé à la base du winch permet de
basculer d’un mode à l’autre.
REMARQUE: pour changer de mode, faites tourner
le bouton de 180° (le winch ne doit pas être en
fonctionnement).
REMARQUE: une fois le mode Rewind sélectionné,
appuyez sur le bouton de 2de vitesse (border) pour
libérer les cliquets et activer la fonction Rewind.
Pour commander la fonction Rewind, utilisez le
bouton de 1re vitesse.
REMARQUE: en mode Rewind, le choqué requiert
une charge minimale de 10 kg sur le cordage.
REMARQUE: activez le winch uniquement si le
bouton est dans l’une des deux positions indiquées
ci-dessous.
REMARQUE : avant toute utilisation, vérifiez le mode
du winch en contrôlant la position du bouton.
Mode Rewind – winch une vitesse
En mode Rewind, la vitesse de rotation de la poupée (dans
les deux sens) correspond à la 2de vitesse du mode
Standard.

Wartungs Tabelle
Winschen müssen vor und nach jeder Segel- oder
Regattasaison optisch inspiziert werden. Sie müssen
mindestens alle 12 Monate vollständig überholt, gereinigt
und geschmiert werden. Nach der Inspektion müssen alle
abgenutzten oder schadhaften Teile ersetzen werden.
Zum Zerlegen und Zusammenbau der Winsch sollten Sie
das Wartungs-Handbuch zu Hilfe nehmen.
ACHTUNG!: Die periodische Wartung muss
regelmässig durchgeführt werden. Das Unterlassen
angemessener Wartung verkürzt die Nutzungsdauer,
kann ernste Unfälle zur Folge haben, und führt zum
Verfall
der
Garantie.
Winschen
müssen
ausschliesslich von spezialisiertem Personal installiert

Le winch Rewind permet de border et choquer les voiles
sous forte charge sans retirer le cordage du mécanisme de
self-tailing. Son fonctionnement est similaire à celui des
winchs deux vitesses Harken standard : embraquage
rapide en 1re et puissance accrue en 2de. La fonction
Rewind évite d’avoir à libérer manuellement l’écoute de la
poupée avant le choqué.
Utilisez le winch Rewind pour régler la grand-voile et le foc
sous forte charge et hisser et affaler la drisse.

Winch a 2 Velocità:
Avvolgere la cima attorno alla campana del winch e per i
winch self tailing, fissare l’ultimo collo nelle semipulegge
del self tailing. Inserire la maniglia nel mozzo per l’innesto
della maniglia e per azionare la prima velocità, ruotare la
maniglia nella direzione indicata nella tabella. All’aumenta-
re del carico, per azionare la seconda velocità, ruotare la
maniglia in direzione contraria.
2 speed Winch:
Take turns of the line round the winch drum and, for
self-tailing winches, pass the final turn in the self-tailing
jaws. Insert the handle into the handle socket and, to activate
first speed, turn the handle in the direction indicated in the
table. As the load increases, activate second speed by
turning the handle in the opposite direction.
2 Gang Winsch:
Legen Sie Ihr Tauwerk in Laufrichtung von Unten nach
Oben mit diversen Windungen um die Winsch-Trommel.
Die letzte Windung muss zwischen den self-tailing Backen
eingelegt werden. Stecken Sie die Kurbel in die Aufnahme.
Um den ersten Gang 'einzulegen' drehen Sie die Kurbel in
der in der Tabelle angegebenen Richtung. Wenn sich die
Last erhöht, legen Sie den zweiten Gang ein, durch Drehen
der Kurbel in der entgegengesetzten Richtung.
Winchs 2 vitesses
Faites des tours morts autour de la poupée et, pour les
winchs self-tailing, insérez le dernier tour dans les
mâchoires du self-tailing. Insérez la manivelle dans la
douille en étoile puis tournez-la dans le sens indiqué dans
le tableau pour engager la première vitesse. Quand la
charge augmente, activez la seconde vitesse en tournant la
manivelle dans le sens opposé.
