4. Place the elbow of the impaired arm into the elbow 

cuff.

5. Using the unaffected hand, place the wrist of the 

impaired hand into the wrist cuff.  Align the wrist 
and the elbow cuffs.

3. Lift “O” ring over head allowing “O” ring to rest on 

back of neck.

8. Attach the end of the swathe strap having the “O” 

ring connector to the front of the elbow cuff.  Face 
the “O” ring and swathe strap toward the outside 
of the impaired side of the patient.

1. Place sling with elbow cuff on impaired side of 

patient.  Hold “O” ring and separate straps.

9.  Pull the loose end of the swathe strap around the 

back of the patient and fasten the loose end of the 
swathe strap to the front of the wrist cuff.

7. The practitioner can make final strap adjustments as 

needed for proper fit.

6. Pull the two straps that are attached to the elbow cuff and 

fasten one to front and one to back of wrist cuff.

    Pull and fasten front strap to elbow cuff.

   

OPTIONAL:  Application of Swathe Strap

2. Place elbow of unaffected arm between front and back 

straps of wrist cuff.
