Maintaining the storage system
Ongoing proper maintenance of the storage system maintains the reliability of the storage system and its constant
availability to all hosts connected to it.
For more complex maintenance activities, contact customer support.
Storing the storage system
If the storage system does not receive power for more than six months, the battery can become discharged and possibly
damaged. To avoid this situation, charge the battery for more than three hours at least once every six months.
Note Do not store the equipment in an environment with temperatures of 104ºF (40ºC) or higher because battery life will
be shortened.
Using flash module drives
Observe the following guidelines when handling the listed flash module drives (FMDs). The following types of FMDs are
equipped with a battery or capacitor.
CautionPower up the flash module drives using power from the storage system for at least 90 minutes every month.
Failure to do so can render a flash module drive unusable and voids replacement under the terms of the warranty.
