the machine with it raised. Earth and stones may be thrown
back at dangerous speeds.
At the end
of a strip,
disengage the tines
and
turn the
cultivator round
for the next strip.
For deep cultivation
first dig the plot over to a depth of
about 75mm, then repeat gradually increasing the
depth.
Never push the equipment beyond its design limits.
If it
will not do what you want with reasonable ease and speed,
assume you have the wrong tool for the job. Contact your
local HSS Hire Shop for advice.
Keep the equipment clean
- you will find this less of a chore
if you clean it regularly, rather than wait until the end of the
hire period.
Regularly check the fuel level and top up as necessary
with unleaded petrol
.
Regularly check the oil level
- when the engine is cold and
on level ground. Withdraw the dipstick, wipe it clean, then
replace it, remove it a second time and verify that the oil level
is between the min and max lines,
top up as necessary.
Suitable oils are available on sale or return from your local HSS
Hire Shop.
Keep the engine upright.
If it should tip over, mop up any
spilled oil and fuel and contact your nearest HSS Hire Shop
before restarting.
Watch for oil leaks
as they may indicate a cracked crankcase,
so switch OFF immediately and contact your local HSS Hire
Shop.
When not in use
, store the equipment somewhere clean,
dry and safe
from thieves.
Select neutral
gear,
disengage the tines
and
release the
OPL
and
set the throttle to idle. Close off the fuel tap.
Hose the equipment down to get it as clean as possible
ready for return,
to your local HSS Hire Shop.
