Safety Warnings
The responsibility for safe installation and operation of the winch and prevention of personal injury and
property damage ultimately rests with the operator.
Always stand to the side of the line of the winch rope when it is pulling. In the unlikely event of a failure the
rope which may recoil violently back towards the winch.
Batteries contain gases which are flammable and explosive. Wear eye protection. Do not lean over with your
face close to the battery while making connections.
Keep hands, hair, and loose clothing away from the winch drum while it is in operation. Injury will occur if your
hand or any part of your body becomes entangled in the winch drum while it is operating.
Inspect the winch rope and equipment before each use. A frayed rope with broken strands should be replaced
immediately with the same rating of rope. Periodically check all bolts are tight.
Do not attempt to disconnect the PWC if it hangs up partway down the ramp. The PWC may suddenly roll free
and the sudden tension on the line and hook may pinch and injure your hands.
Stay off the PWC when it is on the Shore Ramp as it is not designed for the additional load.
Never release the free-spool clutch when there is a load on the winch. Do not launch the PWC by releasing the
free-spool clutch.
Always disconnect the winch power leads before working in or around the winch drum.
Do not machine or weld to any part of the winch.
The winch is designed for 12VDC power. Do not connect winch to either 110 VAC house current as winch
burnout and fatal shock may occur.
Do not operate winch when under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.
Do not allow children to play with or operate the winch.
