Quick Setup Guide

Parts Check
Canister Prep
A.
Canister
1.
Lift Cover Lock to Open Canister.
2.
Swing Spring Latch downward
and remove Cover.
3.
Remove Internal Flow Diffuser
and Center Exhaust Tube.
4.
Remove Carbon Media
Container.
B.
Carbon Media Container
1.
Remove Cover and Fill with Black Diamond Carbon.
2.
Replace Cover and rinse thoroughly.
3.
Slide Rite-Size Filter Sleeve over Container.
4.
Replace Container over Impeller Module and Bottom Plate.
5.
Replace Exhaust Gasket around Center Exhaust Tube.
6.
Replace Internal Flow Diffuser.
C.
Fill and Seal Canister
1.
Add water until Internal Flow Diffuser is covered.
2.
Install Exhaust Gasket onto Cover.
3.
Wet D-Ring with
Aquarium Water
.
4.
Replace Canister Cover. Raise Cover Lock to
engage Spring Latch. Snap Spring Latch in to
groove. Push Cover Lock down to close and
seal canister.
Placement
DO NOT PLUG IN.
B.
Hang Canister in desired position on the
OUTSIDE
of aquarium. Adjust Hanger to fit
aquarium frame.

Adjust Leveling Clip.

Install Leveling Clip in slots
at the bottom of Canister.
DO NOT PLUG IN.
Intake/Outlet
Assembly
A.
Install Intake and Outlet Tubes. Wet O-Rings on tube ends with aquarium
water. Snap into place by pushing into proper port until Connector Clip
engages and locks. Intake is marked
“IN”

NOTE:
Adjust Split Flow Diffuser Diverter.

Keep water level above
tube “elbow” at all times.

CAUTION:

NOTE:
A slight rattling noise is normal
ONLY DURING STARTUP. If noise persists,
shut off filter and check for dirt or debris
that may be in bottom of Canister.

Start Up
STOP:
If assembling H.O.T. Magnum with (BIO-Pro
System),
DO NOT PLUG IN.
Continue on to STEP #6
for ADDITIONAL connection directives.
Plug in power cord. Be sure
to create a “Drip Loop”. Press
On/Off switch to start filter.

Check BIO-Wheel Assembly for proper installation. BIO-Wheel should rotate
freely. Also check that the Spray Bar is snapped in place with Connector Clip.
C.
Mount the Filter Housing on the
back wall of aquarium, next to H.O.T.
Magnum canister on Outlet Tube side.
Replace Filter Housing Cover.
B.
Thread the screws through the sliding
nuts on the Filter Housing. (Left and right
nuts are marked. If nuts have slipped off
the housing, reinstall.) Tighten screws so
Filter Housing will not slip.
NOTE:
Remove
Paper insert from
each BIO-Wheel
NOTE:
Do not over tighten

To remove Spray Bar for cleaning, push
Connector Clip downward (Don’t Squeeze).

TO CHANGE FILTER MEDIA...
Shut down system and remove Canister. Carry to sink. Remove Cover.
Change Media. Secure Cover. Return Canister. Restart Filter.
