RECESSED VERSION INSTALLATION
1. On the rear of the luminaire, locate the terminal access flap, remove the securing screw & bend up to
expose the terminal block.
2. Pass the mains supply cable through the cable entry hole in the terminal access flap (or via one of the
alternative cable entry point knockouts in the ends of the body metalwork) & route to the terminal
block. It is important that supply cables to luminaires fitted with an electronic ballast do not run
adjacent to leads connected to the ballast output terminals so as not to affect radio frequency
interference suppression.
3. Terminate the mains supply cable into the terminal block ensuring correct polarity is observed.
WARNING: THIS LUMINAIRE MUST BE EARTHED
4. Close & secure the terminal access flap.
5. Locate the luminaire into the ceiling by either:
Lay-in
–
•
Pass luminaire through the prepared aperture & lay it in position
•
Ensure stable location onto the ceiling grid or chosen surface
Pull-Up
–
•
Cut or prepare appropriate size hole in ceiling, ensuring aperture is no larger than the overall
luminaire flanges
•
Remove reflector by gently pulling away front edge to release from tabs then pull out of
luminaire body
•
Offer the luminaire body to the ceiling aperture from the underside & push through until front
flange locates to the ceiling surface
•
Locate Lumafix Suspension Brackets (sold as separate item) into slots on side walls of body,
push down until contact is made with ceiling & twist head to secure – 2 brackets per side
•
Refit reflector ensuring the earth wire is securely connected.
Note: NVC Order Code for Lumafix Suspension Brackets (Pack of 4) is NBRKT/LUMAFIX/PK4
6. Locate the lamps (ensuring they are of the correct type & wattage) into the lampholders:
T5
- Align pins with slots in lampholders at both ends & rotate 90
o
to secure
PLL
– Push fit lamp pins into lampholder & clip free end of lamp into support bracket
7. Reconnect power supply & check for correct operation. Luminaires fitted with electronic ballasts are
exempt from insulation resistance tests as this may cause damage to the ballast.
