User manual

The

Tactical PTT AC is a waterproof, handheld device. It is

used to remotely activate the PTT (push to talk) feature of
any 2-way radio.

The

Tactical PTT AC must always be used in combination with

a Phonak AC-branded receiver device Primero DPC+ AC
or Serenity DPC+ AC.
This model of

Tactical PTT  is not backwards compatible. It is

only usable in combination with other products that are
marked ‘AC’.

Operating distance
The Tactical PTT AC’s operating range is a full 2 meters,
giving the user a reliable communication link even if his/her
arm is outstretched.

Battery insertion
To insert the battery (AAA, 1.5V) please slot a coin in the
battery door opening, push down and turn left until reach-
ing the “OPEN” position. Insert the battery with the “–” end
first and close the compartment door by pressing down and
turning to the right until the “ON” position is reached.

The push buttons are used for the following functions:

Identification mode
To program your system, turn on your radio. Once turned on,
the program mode remains ’on’ for 3 minutes. Please
also check that the position of the battery opening of the
Tactical PTT AC is in the “ON” position. To synchronize the
Tactical PTT AC with the receiver, place the two devices
close together and simultaneously push keys #2 and #3.
You will hear 3 signal tones in the In-Ear-Receiver. This
means the two devices are now paired and no other

Tactical

PTT AC will work with this system.

Push to talk (PTT)
To transmit speech, push and hold down key #1. In case of
loss/damage/failure of the

Tactical PTT AC, simply continue

to use the receiver’s integrated PTT function.

Tone board/Volume control
When ordering a Tactical Wireless PTT AC you have the
opportunity to choose one of these con figurations :
Default configuration: key #2 and key #3 have both
Toneboard function (no Volume control).
Optional configuration: key #2 and key #3 have both
Volume control function (no Toneboard).
Toneboard function: Briefly press key #2 or key #3 to gener-
ate a tone on the receiving radio device. (Each press gener-
ates a tone of the same loudness and length).
Volume control function: Briefly press key #2 to increase
the volume or key #3 to decrease it. The volume scale goes
from +3dB to -33dB by 3dB steps. At start-up the volume  is
set to 0dB.

Mute function
Hold down key #2 or #3 for 3 seconds to mute the system. To
reverse this mute function and return to normal volume,
briefly press any key, or hold down key #2 or #3 for 3
seconds. (With the push of this button, its usual function
will also be activated.)

Battery status
Simultaneously push keys #2 and #3 and hold for 3 seconds.
If the resulting LED shows a constant light, the battery’s
charge is OK. A blinking light means the battery’s strength is
weak. To change the battery, follow the “battery insertion”
instructions described above.

Troubleshooting
If no transmission is possible:
–  check that the receiver unit is AC-compatible
–  check that the system is not muted
–  check that the main

Tactical PTT AC unit and its receiver

are paired with each other (in Identification mode).
–  check the

Tactical PTT AC’s battery status.
