JAW GAP ADJUSTMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Bolt cutter jaws are set at the factory.  However, it is a good practice to “fine tune”

them prior to each use.

The two screws on the side of one of the handles perform the following:

1.

Hex head screw located on the jaws end of the adjustment link sets the jaws

•

gap at their tip end.
Hex screw with washer at the handle end of the adjustment link sets the

•

jaws gap at the joint end.

Note 1: Before each adjustment, open the jaws slightly.  When closing the jaws,

make sure that the jaw heels do not press against one another.

Correctly set jaws will have a uniform gap along the length of their edges.  To

2.

verify the gap, place a sheet of paper between the jaws and fully close them.

They should hold the paper in place.

Note 2:  Do not turn the screws more than 1/6th of a turn (one flat of the hex) at a

time.

WARNING

To prevent serious injury:

Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles during use.

1.

Never use on live electrical circuits.
