IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
If this is your first time using the Mini-Jumbo Digital Kitchen Scale please be sure to remove the protective insulation tape from the battery compartment and protective sheet
from the weighing platform before use.
LOW BATTERY INDICATOR
1. If the battery symbol
appears on the display, it is recommended to replace with new batteries to ensure optimum accuracy of the scale.
2. If the display shows 'Lo' and shuts off automatically, please replace the batteries immediately.
TO INSTALL / CHANGE BATTERIES
Warning: batteries may pose a choking hazard. Do not let children handle batteries.
This item uses three AAA batteries. In order to ensure proper performance, be sure to replace batteries as a simultaneous set. Batteries should be removed from the scale if
consumed or if the product is to be left unused for a duration of time. It is recommended to clean all battery contacts prior to installation. Do not mix old and new batteries.
Do not mix alkaline, standard (Carbon-Zinc), or rechargeable (Nickel Cadmium) batteries.
Always purchase the correct size and grade of battery most suitable for the intended use.
Replace all batteries of a set at the same time.
Ensure all batteries are installed correctly with regard to polarity (+ and -).
Remove used batteries promptly.
1. Battery door is located on the back of the unit.
2. Press and pull open the battery cover.
3. Insert three AAA size batteries as shown:
4. Replace battery door, pushing down until it snaps in place.
DISPOSAL OF USED BATTERIES
Batteries may contain hazardous substances which could endanger the environment and human health.
This symbol marked on the battery and/or packaging indicates that used battery shall not be treated as municipal waste. Instead it shall be left at the appropriate
collecbon point for recycling. By ensuring the used batteries are disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and
human health. The recycling of materials will help conserve natural resources.
For more information about collection and recycling of used batteries, please contact your local municipality, your waste disposal service or the point of sale where you
purchased this product.
TO TURN THE SCALE ON/OFF:
Place item on a flat surface before use.
1.
Press the (ON/OFF) button to turn scale ON. "HI" will display and after a few seconds a "0" (for g) or " 0.0" (for lb & oz) will appear.
The scale is ready to use.
2. Press the (ON/OFF) button to turn scale OFF.
NOTE: The backlit display will turn off after 30-seconds without use, however the scale is still on and functioning. Tap the weighing surface to re-illuminate display. The
auto shut-off feature will turn the scale off if not used for 3 minutes.
TO SWITCH BETWEEN lb AND g:
With the scale off, turn on the scale and immediately tap the (ON/OFF) button again while the display reads "HI". It's important to note that this is a gentle double
tap to switch between pounds and grams. No need to press. If there is too much of a delay between turning the scale on and tapping again, the scale will not
switch between reading modes. Turn the scale off and try again.
CAPACITY: 11.0 lb. / 5,000 g. (displays in 0.1 oz. / 1.00 gram increments).
HOW TO USE TARE (additive weighing) FEATURE:
When using the TARE function, starting weight should not exceed 2.10 lb. / 950 g.
1. Place first item on scale, scale will display weight of item.
2. Press (TARE) button. Display will revert to "0" (for g) or "0:0.0" (for lb. and oz.).
3. Place second item on scale, scale will display weight of item.
4. Press (TARE) button. Display will revert to "0" (for g) or "0:0.0" (for lb. and oz.).
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all items have been weighed.
NOTE: there are two ways to set the scale at "0" when weighing items in a container.
1. Place the container on the scale before turning it ON.
2. If the scale is already ON, place the container on the scale and press the (TARE) button which will revert the scale to "0" (for g) or "0:0.0" (for lb. and oz.).
NOTE: the scale will read "O-Ld" if weight on scale is above the scale's capacity of 11.0 lb. / 5,000 g.
