HOW TO USE YOUR TRIMMER
Here are a few tips for trimming facial hair (guide only).
Tips for best results
• Beard, moustache and sideburn hairs should be dry.
• Avoid using lotions before using your trimmer. Comb your hair
in the direction that it grows.
• Remove trimmer comb attachments if you are: defining
hairline edges such as sideburns, trimming the nape of your
neck, trimming your beard line on front of neck.
Trimming Beards
• Before you begin, comb your hair in the direction that it grows
so that the hairs are at their maximum height and facing in the
same direction.
• Determine how much hair you wish to trim. Remember, until
you are familiar with using the trimmer, it is better to select a
longer hair length setting in order not to trim too much hair.
• Turn the trimmer’s power switch ON and begin trimming.
• Start trimming under your chin, and following your jawbone
line. Trim hairs using a downward motion following the
direction of your hair growth or trim against your hair growth,
whichever is preferred. Work toward your ear and upper beard
line using an upward motion. Allow the hair length attachment
to follow the contour of your face.
• When finished trimming, turn the power to OFF.
To Define the Beard Line
• Start with the edge of the beard line and with the cutting
blades resting lightly against your skin. Use downward
motions towards the edge of the beard line to trim the
beard line to the desired shape in the facial areas and
around the neck.
To Trim the Edges of a Moustache
• Moustache hairs should be dry.
• Use a small comb to comb the hairs straight for trimming.
Hold the trimmer with the Goatee trimmer blade facing you.
• Trim hairs using a downward motion following the direction of

your hair growth or trim against your hair growth, whichever
is preferred.
NOTE: Since all hairs do not grow in the same direction, you may
want to try different trimming methods (i.e. upwards, downwards
or across). Practice is best for optimum results.
• After achieving the desired length, use a downward motion
to blend moustache hairs.
• When finished trimming, turn the power to OFF.
NOTE: Use slow light pressure. Too much pressure may trim off
more hair than desired.
To Trim Sideburns
• Comb sideburns following the direction of your hair growth.
• Hold the trimmer vertically with either of the trimmer blades
facing you.
• Trim sideburns using a downward motion.
• When finished trimming, turn the power to OFF.
Trimming the Nape of Your Neck
NOTE: You will need a hand mirror for this operation if performing
it alone.
• Before you begin, remove the attachable combs.
• Use your fingers to lift the hair at the base of your head up off
the neck. Your index finger should be covering the roots of the
hairs you are lifting to prevent accidental removal by the trimmer.
• Using your other hand, hold the trimmer to the base of your
neck with the cutting unit facing up, and move the personal
trimmer up the length of the neck until it touches your finger
covering the hair roots at the base of your head.
• Be sure to move the unit slowly when performing this
operation and to keep the hair roots at the base of your head
out of the way of the trimmer.
CLEANING AND MAINTAINING YOUR TRIMMER
• Always clean the trimming system attachments regularly
to ensure maximum performance and a proper operating life.
• Unplug adaptor from wall outlet and ensure your trimmer
is turned off
• Remove the adjustable combs before cleaning.
