WARNING
Read these instructions, the tool instructions and the warn-
ings and instructions for all equipment being used before op-
erating this tool to reduce the risk of electrical shock or
other serious personal injury.
•
Use the RIDGID
®
RPA 120/220 AC Power (Mains) Adapter
only with the RIDGID
®
RP 340 Press Tool.
Other uses or mod-
ifying the AC Power Adapter for other applications may damage
the equipment and/or cause personal injury.
•
Do not probe AC Power Adapter terminals with conductive
objects.
Shorting of terminals may cause sparks, burns or elec-
trical shock.
•
Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying,
pulling or unplugging the tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil,
sharp edges or moving parts.
Damaged or entangled cords in-
crease the risk of electric shock.
•
Always unplug the adapter from the outlet before removing
the adapter from the tool.
This will reduce the risk or electrical
shock.
•
Do not use in damp, wet or explosive environment.
Do not ex-
pose to rain, snow or dirt. Contaminants and moisture increase
the risk of electrical shock.
•
If operation in a damp location is unavoidable, use a ground
fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) protected supply.
Use of a
GFCI reduces the risk of electrical shock.
•
AC Power Adapter plug must match the outlet. Never mod-
ify the plug in any way.
Unmodified plugs and matching outlets
will reduce risk of electric shock.
•
Use an appropriate power source. Do not attempt to use a
step-up transformer, an engine generator or DC power re-
ceptacle.
May cause damage to AC Power Adapter resulting in
electrical shock, fire or burns.
•
Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces
such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators.
There is
increased risk of electrical shock if your body is earthed or
grounded.
•
Do not open the AC Power Adapter housing.
Have repairs
performed only at authorized locations.
The EC Declaration of Conformity (890-011-320.10) will accom-
pany this manual as a separate booklet when required.

Inspection/Maintenance
Make sure the AC Power Adapter is unplugged. Clean the AC
Power Adapter with a soft cloth to aid inspection and control. In-
spect before each use for proper assembly, wear, damage or other
issues that could affect safe use. Make sure that the cord and plug
are not damaged. Confirm that the markings are present and read-
able. Do not use if any issues are found.
Set-
Up/Operation
Make sure all equipment is inspected and set up per its instruc-
tions.
1. Confirm that the AC Power Adapter is unplugged from any
power source and securely insert the AC Power Adapter into
tool battery port.
2. Run the cord along a clear path, and with dry hands plug the
AC Power Adapter into an appropriate power source. If the
power cord is not long enough, use an extension cord that:
• Is in good condition.
• Is appropriately rated for the use.
• Has sufficient wire size (16 AWG for 50' or less, 14 AWG for
50' to 100'). Undersized wires can overheat, melting the in-
sulation or causing fire or other damage.
Confirm the Red LED is ON and solidly illuminated. If the Red
LED is flashing;
• An excessive initial temperature or temperature increase
has occurred (Temperature Protection).
• A short circuit has occurred (Short Circuit Protection) or
overload protection.
• The Adapter is not working properly.
Unplug the AC Adapter from the power source and allow a
minimum of 5 minutes to cool down. The internal thermal over-
load will reset itself. If this does not solve issue, have adapter
serviced.
3. Operate the tool as per its instructions, following duty cycle.
4. Unplug AC Power Adapter with dry hands when not in use. Al-
