How to install ND40/44 button in field:
There is potential for the outside emergency turn on the ND40
and ND44 to be installed incorrectly. Consequently, the
button can fall out if the door is slammed. (See picture on right)
The customer may have one of the following conditions:
If lock is assembled and button has popped out:
1.
Remove outside lever and rose assembly from lock chassis.
2.
Insert outside button fully into emergency cylinder by lining up notch on plunger with groove on cylinder.
3.
With flat head screw driver, turn clockwise until button stops; then turn counterclockwise 90 degrees. (be sure
to hold down button with thumb to prevent further rotation after this step)
4.
Reassemble outside lever assembly and chassis again. If done correctly, the button should only rotate 20 to 30
degrees (assuming inside button is not depressed)
Note: If chassis and outside lever assembly come apart, the button has potential to fall out.
