When not in use, store the tools in their case in a  

 

safe, dry, childproof location. 

Designed for the recommended removal and installation of 

elasticated or stretch drive belts fitted to modern auxiliary drive 

systems such as the alternator or power steering. Prevents 
damage to the pulley and prolongs the life of the belt. Two 
tools included, one for installation and one for removal. fits 
most crankshaft pulleys.

3.1.  

Removal of belt.

3.1.1. 

Position the removal tool at the top of the pulley,  

 

adjust it to fit onto the pulley by loosening the  

 

wing nut, sliding the adjuster to grip inside the 

 

pulley and then retighten the wing nut (fig.1.A).

3.1.2. 

Using a spanner or socket to turn the pulley in the  

 

direction of engine rotation, slowly turn it so that the  

 

removal tool fits under the belt (Fig.1.B) and as the 

 

pulley is turned further, the angle of the tool pushes  

 

the belt forwards and away from the pulley.

3.1.3. remove the belt from the engine and remove the  
 

removal tool from the pulley.

3.2.  installation of belt.

3.2.1. 

Position the installation tool at the top of the pulley,  

 

adjust it to fit onto the pulley by loosening the wing  

 

nut, sliding the adjuster to grip inside the pulley and  

 

then retighten the wing nut (fig.2.A).

3.2.2. 

Position the belt so that it starts to feed over the 

 

installation tool and onto the pulley. Using a spanner  

 

or socket to turn the pulley in the direction of engine  

 

rotation, slowly turn the pulley and ensure that the  

 

belt feeds onto the pulley. You may need to help it  

 

sit correctly on the pulley. continue to turn the pulley  

 

(Fig.2.B) until the tool clears the belt on the other  

 

side of the pulley. Ensure that the belt is correctly  

 

positioned on the pulley. 

3.2.3.

 

remove the installation tool from the pulley and  

 

return tools to their case.
