CrystalEyes is designed to be worn with or without prescription eyewear with no adjustment needed.   A compatible stereo
computer graphics or video system must be available to check the operation of the eyewear.  Each pair of CrystalEyes eyewear
includes two fresh batteries, which are installed at the factory.  To activate the eyewear, unfold the temple pieces; to turn off the
eyewear, fold the temple pieces.   Always fold the eyewear when not in use to maximize the battery life.

Installing the StereoGraphics Emitter

StereoGraphics CrystalEyes requires the use of an infrared emitter in order to synchronize the eyewear in conjunction with the left
and right image sequence on screen. The infrared receiver (located in the center of the eyewear) must be in line of sight and in
range of the emitter for successful operation of CrystalEyes.  Please consult the documentation accompanying your emitter for
installation and operation details.  For best results in using CrystalEyes with standard workstation
displays, set the emitter slightly behind the top edge of the monitor, as shown in Figure 1.  In addition:

INSTALLATION & SETUP

Figure 1. Display and Emitter

• For EPRO, ESGI and ELR emitters, make sure the emitter is switched to the ON

position. Depending on the emitter range needed, switch the emitter to either the high
or low setting.

• The ENT emitter will switch on and off automatically whenever a sync signal is

presented by the graphics card.

• Users of the EPC-2 must switch the emitter from BYPASS to STEREO MODE and

set the emitter range separately.

Optional add-on Nosepiece

The new optional nosepiece has been designed to give a better fit for people with smaller noses or who wear prescription eyeglasses
and where the CrystalEyes do not rest comfortably on the nose bridge.

The nosepiece simply ‘sticks on’ over the current built-in nosepiece.  To attach the nosepiece, remove the backing tape to the
adhesive strip on the add-on nosepiece and slide the nosepiece into position with the flange facing out.  Press into place until the
adhesive ‘sticks’ (approximately 2 seconds).

Battery Indicator  -- New for CrystalEyes 3

The battery indicator light is positioned inside the CrystalEyes frame above the right lens.  The LED indicator will illuminate for
approximately 2 seconds only when the eyewear is switched on (by opening the right temple).  After approximately 2 seconds the
LED will switch off and remain off until the temple reactivates the on/off switch.

Indicator  light: ON for 2 seconds:

battery OK

Flashing for 2 seconds:

batteries should be replaced

OFF:

batteries are dead or on/off switch reactivated within 2 seconds;
replace batteries.

Note:  If temples are closed and re-opened within 4 seconds, the battery indicator will not illuminate.  Wait 4 seconds to check the battery.
