TMAA04-05 Ignition Sense Cable

Installation Instructions

Introduction

The TMAA04-05 ignition sense cable
provides a mating plug for the radio’s
auxiliary connector. The 13 ft (4m)
cable from pin 4 (AUX_GPI3) of the
plug connects to the vehicle’s
ignition signal.

Once the cable is installed, the
ignition signal is used to power up
and power down the radio, so that
when the vehicle ignition is turned
off, the radio turns off.

When the vehicle ignition is turned
on, the radio is programmed to either
turn on, or to return to the state that it
was in when the vehicle ignition was
turned off.

Notice

The radio does not meet the IP54 protection standard once the bung for the

auxiliary connector is removed. Therefore, once the TMAA04-05 ignition sense cable is
installed, mount the radio in areas where it is not exposed to water, dust or other
environmental hazards.

Hardware Configuration for Ignition Sense

The radio hardware link LK2 (on the top-side of the main board) must be fitted for ignition
sense operation. The following table describes the configuration options.

LK2 is fitted by default.
