FAQ tiptel 85 System
(from vers. 2.xx)
Mode of Use: Office or Switchboard?
as of Dec. 08, 2008
1. Modes of use
When turning on the telephone with factory default settings for the very first time the user is prompted
to choose among two modes of use
Office
(Standard)
or
Switchboard
(Receptionist)
. The mode
selected will be shown under the menu item
"Information“ -> "Software"
. Changing the mode of use
at a later time is only possible by
resetting
the telephone to factory default settings.
When updating the firmware from Rel. 1 to Rel. 2 the mode
Standard
will automatically be set.
2. Predefined function keys in switchboard mode
When changing to
switchboard mode
the following function keys will be programmed in the phone:
Key 1 - Accept (accept waiting call)
Key 2 - Transfer (explicit call transfer)
Key 3 - Disconnect
For correct operation these keys may not be assigned by the PBX in any way. As before, function
keys configured within the PBX have a
higher
priority
. The predefined keys can be reprogrammed
later as usual.
When selecting
standard mode
all keys on the telephone are not being pre-programmed.
