ULTRA™ THERMOMETER ACCURACY
Ultra™ thermometers are tested at selected test
points to be within tighter than normal tolerances to
assist in providing improved accuracy. Other points
will not necessarily fall within the same accuracy as
those found at the selected test points, but will be
within an accuracy of ±1.5°C.
OPERATION
1. Remove the stem from the protective sheath.
2. Slide the ON/OFF switch to ON.
3. Slide the °F/°C switch to °F to display the tem-
perature in Fahrenheit or to °C to display the
temperature in Celsius.
4. Slide the HOLD/TEST switch to TEST and insert
the stem of the thermometer into the material to be
measured.
5. Slide the ON/OFF switch to OFF.
6. Replace the protective sheath.
DATA HOLD
Slide the HOLD/TEST switch to TEST to make mea-
surements. Slide the HOLD/TEST switch to HOLD
to “freeze” the display at the current reading, °F/°C
will flash on the display. Once the reading has been
recorded, slide the HOLD/TEST switch to TEST to
“release” the display and return to the current read-
ing, °F/°C will no longer flash on the display.
ALL OPERATIONAL DIFFICULTIES
If this thermometer does not function properly for any
reason, please replace the battery with a new high-
quality battery (see “Battery Replacement” section).
Low battery power can occasionally cause any num-
ber of “apparent” operational difficulties. Replacing
the battery with a new fresh battery will solve most
difficulties. If the voltage of the battery becomes low
°C and °F symbols will flash.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
Erratic readings, a faint display, or no display are all
indications that the battery must be replaced. To
replace the battery, remove the battery cap by turning
it in the direction indicated by the “OPEN” arrow.
Remove the exhausted battery and replace it with
a new 1.5 volt size G-13 battery (Replacement Cat.
No. 1039). Make certain that the positive (+) side is
facing you. Replace the battery cap.
