S2466 Tiger MPX Addendum 1.1
Because of changes during production, there have been updates that you need to be fully aware
of, before and after installing your motherboard. The following are changes to either specification
and or items inside the manual.
Specifications :
Changes to manual:
•
The S2466 Tiger MPX now supports
4GB* of Registered
DDR SDRAM memory – the
manual indicates 3GB.
•
The S2466 Tiger MPX currently only supports non-registered DDR SDRAM on the first 2
memory banks (slots
DIMM1
and
DIMM2
, as marked on the motherboard) – the manual
indicates this but does not specify in what configuration.
•
The S2466 Tiger MPX auxiliary drive power connector must be independent of any other
devices. A device such as a DVD/CD-ROM drive, hard drive, or any other devices
cannot be attached onto the same power line. If connected, system stability is
compromised.
* AMD chipset architecture requires memory above 3.5GB to be reserved for PCI devices.
The Front Panel Connector:
Front Panel Connector (J12)
The following connectors have been reversed in the opposite direction. The manual indicates that
Pin 1 starts from the right side. Pin 1 on the board begins from the left.

Onboard USB Support and Back Panel Connectors:
Due to abrupt changes in the AMD 760 MPX chipset, onboard USB function on the S2466 is
disabled. However, we have included a USB 1.1
4-port
controller for your convenience. Not only
do you now have the same USB functionality as expected, but the 2466 now has 2 extra USB ports
in case your needs expand. To install, simply insert the supplied USB 1.1 4-port controller into any
of the 32-bit/33MHz PCI slots (short PCI slots).
The controller will not install in the longer 64-bit/66MHz slot because of different electrical support.
The card will also not be able to fit in the 64-bit/66MHz slot.
Front-Side Bus Jumper:
Page 9 in the manual indicates J53 as being 1-2 for 266MHz FSB.
The correct setting is J53: 2-3

66MHz PCI Bus Enable/Disable (J39):
Page 9 in the manual indicates that when J39 is connected, PCI bus is 66MHz.
This is incorrect
.
Connect J39 to force PCI bus to 33MHz and disconnect to enable default operation at 66MHz.
This addendum is effective for S2466 Tiger MPX Manual Revision 1.00
