Troubleshooting steps for the Starbook System Alignment

If you are having difficulty with your starbook system, please review these steps before
calling for technical support.

Did you install the battery into the back of the Starbook?  If Yes then proceed, if No,
please install battery before moving forward.

Lattitude: ________ Be sure it is set to “West” as it comes from the factory set for Japan
Longitude: ________

Time: ________

Hours from GMT: _____  Be sure you see the – Negative symbol to the left of the Hours

When Polar Aligning, start with the tripod Level

When Locking the Declination and Right Ascension Axis, be sure it is securely
tightened. You may want to try this with the mount off first to see how much pressure is
required to lock the axis.

Low voltage: Whenever the mount experiences low voltage you may have problems.
We strongly encourage all users to use a 17amp hour or more DC source OR the AC
adapter to operate the mount.

Here is a table to help with approximate distance estimates;

Distance spanned by three fingers held together

5 degrees

when spread apart
