BEFORE USING THE GLASS-CERAMIC COOKTOP

CAUTION: This cooktop complies with all applicable safety

and electromagnetic compatibility legislation.
However, persons with pacemaker should keep at a safe

distance from the appliance. This is because it is not possible

to guarantee that all pacemakers on the market comply with

the standards in compliance with which this appliance was

tested so it is not possible to provide an absolute guarantee of

the absence of potentially harmful interference.

To make the most of your new appliance, please read the user

instructions carefully and keep them handy for future

consultation.

INSTALLATION

Cooktop

The cooktop must be set into a worktop the thickness of

which must be between 30 mm and 50 mm

For the distance between the underside of the glass-

ceramic cooktop and the cupboard or separating panel

beneath it, observe the dimensions given in figure 1.

If the cooktop is to be installed next to a column unit, leave

a distance of at least 100 mm from the edge of the

cooktop.

Cut an opening in the worktop of the dimensions shown in the

Product Description Sheet supplied separately.

Apply the supplied gasket to the cooktop (unless it has already

been fitted), after having cleaned the surface.

Important
In order to prevent the electronic circuits from overheating with

consequent damage, we recommend the following:

Do not install the cooktop near a dishwasher or washing

machine, so that the electronic circuits do not come into

contact with steam or moisture, which could damage

them.

If an oven (manufactured by us) is to be installed under the cooktop,

ensure it is equipped with a cooling system and observe the

distances given in figure 1a. There must be nothing between the

cooktop and the oven (cross rails, panels, brackets, etc.).
If the oven has a self-cleaning function (pyrolysis), do not use the

cooktop whilst this function is selected.
If the temperature of the electronic circuits exceeds the maximum

permitted value, the cooktop will switch off automatically; in this

case, wait for a few minutes until the internal temperature of the

electronic circuits reaches a tolerable level, at which point it will be

possible to switch the cooktop on again.

Switch the cooktop off after use.

Assembly
The cooktop must be secured
by means of brackets.
Use the supplied brackets and
screws.

Fit the hob in the

worktop.

Position the brackets (A

as shown in the figure, in

accordance with the

thickness of the worktop.

Secure the screws (B) in

holes (C).

Electrical connections

The electrical connection must be made before connecting the
appliance power cable to the electricity supply. The appliance must
be installed by a qualified electrician who is fully aware of statutory
safety and installation regulations. Specifically, installation must be
carried out in compliance with the regulations of the local electricity
company. Make sure that the voltage shown on the rating plate is the
same as the power supply voltage in your home. The appliance must
be earthed in compliance with the provisions of law: use exclusively
conductors (including the earth conductor) of the appropriate size.
The manufacturer declines all liability for injury to persons or animals
and for damage to property resulting from failure to observe the
above regulations. For the electrical connection use an H05 RR-F
type cable as indicated in the table below:

Power supply voltage

:

If the cooktop is not supplied with a power cable already
fitted, see the diagram on the Product Description Sheet for
connection to the mains electricity supply.
The appliance must be connected to the electricity supply via an
all-pole disconnect switch with minimum contact gap of 3 mm.
Caution
: the power supply cable must be long enough to allow the
cooktop to be removed from the worktop and must be positioned
so as to avoid damage or overheating caused by contact with the
base.
Connecting to the terminal board
Note
: the yellow/green earth wire must be connected to the
terminal with the symbol

and must be longer than the other

wires.

Place the glass-ceramic hob on a soft cloth to prevent it from
being scratched during the installation procedure (see Fig. 2).

Unscrew cover (A) fixed to the underside of the cooktop.

Remove an approximate length of 70 mm of the power cable
insulation.

Strip approximately 10 mm of insulation from the wires then
insert the power cable into cable clamp (B) and connect the wires
to terminal board (C) as shown in the wiring diagram alongside
the terminal board.

Secure the power cable with cable clamp (B).

Close the terminal board with cover (A)(see Fig. 3).

Whenever the cooktop is connected to the mains it performs an
automatic check lasting several seconds.

The TIMER function can be used to program the operation of a cooking zone.
To programme the timer for a given cooking zone, first select the desired cooking zone using one of the buttons “B”
To activate the function, press the button with the clock symbol “F”, then reselect button “B” of the activated zone. A dot lights
up next to the display of the selected cooking zone. Within 6 seconds, set the cooking time using buttons “F” +/- (1-99 min).
At the end of the set cooking time, an acoustic signal sounds. If a cooking zone has been programmed to operate with the timer, it
is switched off and the indicator dot switches off too. The TIMER function can only be used to activate one cooking zone.

The FAST BOIL function sets a heating level higher than max. to bring water rapidly to the boil.
To activate the function, select a cooking zone with the button “B” and press the button “D”. A P appears on the display.

H

RESIDUAL HEAT INDICATOR.
After the cooking zone is switched off, the residual heat indicator “H” remains on or flashes, alternating with “0” until the hob
temperature falls to an acceptable safety level.

Important: The hob's safety features include an automatic switching off function. Prolonged use of the same heat setting causes switching off of
the cooking zone (e.g. after approx. 1 hour at maximum heat setting, the cooking zone switches off).
