Skimmer Overflow Stopper™ (SOS™) User Manual
Congratulations on your purchase of the SOS! It is a must have device for any serious marine or reef aquarium
hobbyist. The SOS eliminates the hazards that can happen when your protein skimmer unavoidably overflows
or the water level in your sump rises too high.

If you have purchased the SOS model (With sensor connectors accessible), it only takes a few minutes to
install the magnetic coupled SOS water level sensors in your protein skimmer and sump. The sensors will
trigger the controller to stop the skimmer pump when either the collection cup is full or the water level in the
sump rises too high.
First, pick a location in the aquarium stand to mount the SOS controller. Keep in mind that you want to choose
a location with easy access for setting/resetting the controller so that you can stop the skimmer temporarily
for empting the cup, changing to a new filter sock, feeding, supplementing or
medicating your aquarium.
Basic installation and operation with one stop function:
1)
Mount the SOS controller onto the stand wall with the supplied screws.
2)
Plug the skimmer pump power cord into the 3-prong socket on the SOS.
3)
Plug the SOS controller power cord into an AC power outlet.
4)
Hear 1 beep follows by 4 LED blinks before LED & the skimmer pump are on.
Enable and disable one stop function:
ENABLE
1)
Press and hold the push button for 3 seconds to hear 1 beep.
2)
Release the button after one beep enables a 10-minute one-time stop
of the pump immediately.
3)
Or hold button continuously to hear multiple beeps from 1 beep up to
10 beeps before releasing the button. LED blinks continuously. The
skimmer pump is off.
1 beep = 10 minutes off
2 beep = 20 minutes off
3 beep = 30 minutes off
4 beep = 1 hour off
5 beep = 2 hours off
6 beep = 4 hours off
7 beep = 12 hours off
8 beep = 1 day off
9 beep = 2 days off
10 beep = 3 days off
DISABLE

To cancel (disable) the temporary stop at any time, just press and hold the push button for 3
seconds. The LED will lit up solidly and the pump will start running immediately again.
