add spares
add vdisk-spare (Deprecated)
.
Description
Designates specified available disks to be spares. A spare can replace a failed disk of the same
type (enterprise SAS, for example) and the same or lower capacity in a disk group with a
fault-tolerant RAID level (1, 3, 5, 6, 10, 50).
For linear storage, you can add global spares or dedicated spares:
•
A global spare is available to any fault-tolerant vdisk with the same disk type. The system can
have 16 global spares.
•
A dedicated spare is assigned to a fault-tolerant vdisk with the same disk type. A vdisk can have
4 dedicated spares.
