PDP Registers and Alarms
This section contains information for the PDP Registers (FC 04) and PDP Alarms (FC 02).
The register and alarm tables contain sample register lists and may not be the same as the registers in your
PDP.
PDP Registers (FC 04)
Figure 7 provides a partial list of data registers that are available from a PDP. Not all registers may be available
in your PDP.
To read the vendor name in the PDP, set the Modbus program to Unit ID 1 and register 1032:
IP: <IP address of PDP>
Unit ID: 1
Starting Register: 1032
Number of registers: 32
Function Code: 04
The PDP returns 32 registers containing up to 64 characters. There are two ASCII characters per register, so
the vendor name could be displayed as Eaton.
PDP Alarms (FC 02)
Table 8 provides a partial list of example PDP alarms. Your PDP may have different alarms. PDP alarms are not
registers, but are discrete inputs and are read using FC 01 or FC 02.
The PDP monitors the condition of several parameters and can activate an alarm status if a parameter is out of
range. For example, if the input frequency is too high or too low, the PDP can set the Input Frequency Fault
Alarm.
To read the Input Frequency Fault Alarm, set the Modbus program to Unit ID 1 and coil address 1008:
IP: <IP address of PDP>
Unit ID: 1
Starting Register: 1008
Number of Registers: 1
Function Code: 02
