Network requirements
As shown in
, a data center network has two layers: the distribution layer and the access
layer. A port connected to a higher layer device is an uplink port, and a port connected to a lower
layer device is a downlink port. RB 1 is the gateway of the data center network.
Configure TRILL in the network as follows:
•
Enable TRILL on both uplink and downlink ports of access layer devices, and enable TRILL on
downlink ports of distribution layer devices.
•
Configure two TRILL distribution trees that are rooted at RB 1 and RB 2. Configure a higher
priority for RB 1 to be a distribution tree root.
•
Configure TRILL Layer 3 forwarding on RB 1. Specify VLAN-interface 100's IP address
100.1.1.1 as the gateway of the users in VLAN 100 and VLAN-interface 200's IP address
200.1.1.1 as the gateway of the users in VLAN 200.

Configuration procedure
This section provides only TRILL-related configurations.
1.
Configure the downlink ports of access layer devices:
# Enable TRILL globally on RB 3.
<RB3> system-view
[RB3] trill
[RB3-trill] quit
# Enable TRILL on downlink port Ten-GigabitEthernet 1/0/1, and configure the port's link type
as access without the alone attribute.
[RB3] interface ten-gigabitethernet 1/0/1
[RB3-Ten-GigabitEthernet1/0/1] trill enable
[RB3-Ten-GigabitEthernet1/0/1] trill link-type access
