Call Costing & Least Cost Routing
-
The actual rates for calls are programmed in
the LCR table based on the digits dialed by the guest.
Program 79-ST-01
LCR Level
- If you are using a single carrier set this value to
1. This program setting enables LCR for the guests when they dial an outside call.
Program 75
LCR Digit Analyze Table
. This program is used to input your
dialed number plan and to enter the data required for costing calls.
Program 75-01 Route Table
- The default is 0. If you are using a single carrier leave
this setting at 1.
Program 75-02 LCR Number
This is the leading digit or dialed digit pattern of the
numbers on outside lines. In the example below digits 8 and 9 are treated as local calls
and are billed at a flat rate of $.22 per call. Note that a special entry is made for 000 and
it is the first entry in the system. This entry MUST be made. As in all LCR systems if a
path is not defined for a particular number then it cannot be dialled by the system.
Program 75-04 Basic Fee-
is referred to as an initial set up charge that is a flat rate.
In the example below all local calls are charged a flat rate fee of 22 cents per call with no
following charges but 03 for instance has a connection fee 0f 0.10 with following charges
using Unit fee as defined below
Program 75-05 Unit Fee
-
This defines a rate per unit. A unit is a number of
seconds as defined in 75-06. If the Unit Fee is 0.02 as defined below for 03 and the Unit
Seconds (75-06) is 10, then the charge would be 0.02 every 10 seconds or 0.20 per
minute.
Program 75-06 Unit Seconds
-
Unit Seconds determines the increments in which
the call is measured.
For example:
1. If the Unit Seconds is set to 6, the call will be measured in 6 second increments.
2. If the Unit Seconds is set to 30, the call will be measured in 30 second increments.
3. If the Unit Seconds is set to 60, the call will be measured in 60 second increments.
The actual per minute costing of the call can be determined within reason, according to
the customer’s requirements.
A call rate of 0.10 per minute can be configured in any of these ways:
1. Unit Fee = 0.01 and Unit Seconds=6
2. Unit Fee = 0.05 and Unit Seconds=30
3. Unit Fee = 0.10 and Unit Seconds=60.
If a caller talks for exactly 60 seconds, the call will cost 0.10 on all three configurations.
However, if the caller talks for 20 seconds, the three examples will yield costs of:
