Getting Started with NXP-based Wireless Modules on i.MX 8M Quad EVK Running Android 10 OS
4 Setup of i.MX 8M Quad EVK Android image
The Android image is built after the source code download.
This section describes how to build Android 10 for the i.MX 8M Quad EVK board,
including:
•
Configuring a Linux based host machine for Android build
•
Downloading, patching, and building the software components that create the Android
system image
•
Using the Android release source code to build the Android platform for i.MX and
enable the NXP driver module support
•
Copying the images to boot the media (eMMC).
•
Configuring the hardware and/or software to program the boot media and run the
images
4.1 Using the pre-built image
Note:
The 88W8997-based M.2 PCIe module (AW-CM276MA) is used as default
configuration for Android pre-built image. Therefore, Android pre-built image supports
only AW-CM276MA module.
This section describes the steps to prepare eMMC to boot up an i.MX 8M Quad board
using a Linux host machine. The pre-built image can be downloaded from the
, after selecting the supported platform
i.MX 8M Quad EVK - demo images
. It
requires to accept NXP software license agreement.
Note:
A pre-built image contains all the image elements and does not require to build
the image using the Android build setup. So the user can directly jump to
