XS26GS Managed Optical Ethernet Switch User Manual
76
Description
Use
flow-control
command to enable flow control on the Ethernet port.
Use
no flow-control
command to disable flow control on the port.
In the case that flow control is enabled on both the local and peer switches, when
congestion occurs on the local switch, the local switch sends a message to notify the
peer switch to stop sending packets to itself or reduce the sending rate temporarily.
The peer switch will stop sending packets to the local switch or reduce the sending
rate temporarily when it receives the message; and vice versa. In this way, packet
loss is avoided to make the network operation normal.
By default, flow control is disabled on a port.
