By default, Inspector is preset to check for viruses in the subdirectories of
the defined directories to be checked. To exclude all the subdirectories
from the check use the switch –
r
in the Inspector command line.
Let's review the following example for training purposes:

/documents
and all the subdirectories and ignore all the .bmp files located there.

Solution: To do this, enter the following strings in the Inspector start-up
command line:
./kavinspector /documents –r– –xf=*.bmp
–s[=base_documents]
12.2.3. Handling modified and new
files
When it detects modified or new files Inspector may perform one of the
following actions:
•
prompt for disinfection of infected objects;
•
display a report about the modified and new files detected;
•
automatically handle all the modified and new files detected;
•
transfer all the modified and new files detected to Daemon
where they will be processed;
•
transfer to Daemon only those infected files that Inspector failed
to disinfect;
•
transfer all the new files to Daemon where they will be
processed.
The word
disinfection
used here must be understood as the complete
recovery of a file to the original state described in the corresponding
database master copy.

To set the program to display an inquiry message on whether
the detected file modification must be disinfected,
use the switch
–da
in the Inspector command line.
