SitePlayer Telnet User’s Manual
Appendix A
AT Command Set
SitePlayer supports TCP/IP and UPD connection control through the serial port by using the AT command
set. The AT command set was developed by Hayes to initiate and control modem connections. SitePlayer
uses a subset of the AT command set and extends it for network connection control. This means that you
can initiate and terminate TCP/IP and UPD network connections from your serial attached device rather than
having to use the web interface. The command set is called “AT-Command set” because most commands
begin with the letters AT.
AT-Command mode must be enabled, before SitePlayer can respond to AT commands. You can enable AT
command mode through the web interface in the Telnet page by selecting “AT-Command” under SitePlayer
Mode. Once AT-Command is selected, SitePlayer will not act as a Client or Server until the appropriate AT-
Command is issued through the attached serial port.
Commands listed below must be followed by carriage return (except the A/ command). Some commands
take an optional argument which is denoted as [
argument
] below. Some commands take a numeric argu-
ment which is denoted as [
n
] below. Usually the number 0 means turn the option off, while 1 means turn
the option on. If the optional numeric argument is not present, then the number 0 is assumed, which turns
the option off. The maximum command line that may be issued is 50 characters. If you issue more that 50
characters, the first 50 will be acted upon as if a carriage return had been issued. Commands may be in ei-
ther upper or lower case.
A/
Repeat last command. The last issued command line is repeated as if it were
typed in again. Note, that a carriage return is not necessary after this command.
AT[
command
]
Attention. This is what all commands are prefixed with. SitePlayer will respond
with “OK” if no command is issued. All commands must be proceeded with AT.
You can issue multiple commands per line by issuing an AT followed by mul-
tiple commands separated by spaces. For example,
AT
ATE1 V0
ATZ DT52.230.231.8
DC
Set SitePlayer into Client mode and then exits AT command mode until
SitePlayer is reset or power cycled. You will not be able to re-enter AT command
mode until SitePlayer is reset, power cycled or Force-AT-Command mode is ini-
tated. You will need to make sure the Remote IP address and port are specified
in the Web page. If you have multiple commands on a line this needs to be the
last command.
DL[:

Listens on
port
for a TCP/IP connection. If
port
is not specified, the Telnet port in
the Services web page (usually port 23) is assumed. For example,
ATDL
ATDL:231
