Reception
Receiving types:
Following types of MIME reception are supported.
- ITU-T T.37 I-FAX Simple Mode (MIME attaching method of Tiff Profile-S)
- E-Mail Mode (MIME attaching method of Tiff Profile-F)
- MIME data of Multipart/Report format
Simple Mode reception or E-Mail Mode reception is automatically switched depending on the
type of attached image.
Simple Mode reception:
This is a function to receive images conforming to ITU-T T.37 I-FAX Simple Mode.
E-Mail Mode reception:
This is a function in which Tiff Profile-F is added to attached image files used in ITU-T T.37
I-FAX Simple Mode.
Multipart/Report reception:
Mail data with this field should result in MIME analysis error. Reception is not available.
Reception protocol:
This has both SMTP and POP3 reception. SMTP and POP are exclusively used.
SMTP protocol:
Send has SMTP server function.
It receives data from SMTP client.
But, it does not have a function of SMTP intermediary server.
You need to set followings for SMTP reception.
- [Reception method] in user data is set to SMTP.
- [Mail address (From)] in user data
- [SMTP reception port number] in user data
- [Network setting] in user data
POP3 protocol:
Send can receive data with POP3 protocol from POP3 server.
You need to set followings for POP3 reception.
- [Reception method] in user data is set to POP3.
- [POP3 server name] in user data
- [POP account] in user data
- [POP password] in user data
- [POP3 reception port number] in user data
- [Network setting] in user data
Mail rejection:
If mail size is larger than [Max receivable size] in POP3 reception, no function can support it.
If TIFF parameter is any of followings, the mail is rejected as an error even though the
parameter is allowed as TIFF.
When a number of bit indicating one pixel is more than two.
When a number of used color is more than three.
When a number of TIFF data block (strip) is more than two in a page.
When a data compression method is other than MH/MR/MMR.
