GuardCom

Conveyor station
The communication cable between GuardCom and the conveyor station has nine pins to carry the
following functions:
(refer to Figure 12, section 5 for signal overview)

guard_is_open
Output
Indicates that the Guard is fully open.
High level if open (24V).

guard_is_closed
Output
Indicates that the Guard is fully closed.
High level if closed (24V).

robot_is_ready
Output
Indicates that the robot is ready to receive/deliver a
package.
High level if ready (24V).
4
guard_is_blocked
Output
Indicates that the Guard has been hindered from closing
(section 6.4).
High level if blocked (24V).
5
24v_isolated
Output
Constant 24V output from the GuardCom.
Must be used as source for input to the GuardCom from
the conveyor station. Must not be used for any other
purposes.
Not used in default setting (section 6).
Max 0.5A.

gnd_isolated
Output
This isolated ground signal exposed by the GuardCom may
be employed by the end-user to introduce a common
ground between the GuardCom electric circuit and the
external system, should such provisions be necessary.

ok_to_open
Input
The Guard is not opened if the ok_to_open signal is not
high (24V*).
This is only the case if the control_open option is enabled.
In default setting this input has no effect (section 6).

ok_to_close
Input
The Guard is not closed if the ok_to_close signal is not high
(24V*).
This is only the case if the control_close option is enabled.
In default setting this input has no effect (section 6).

confirm_ready
Input
If confirm_ready is high (24V*) the guardcom_is_ready
light can be turned on.
This is only the case if the control_ready option is enabled.
In default setting this input has no effect (section 6).

The rolls on the conveyor station must not turn unless one of these signals are set
high:
- guard_is_closed
- robot_is_ready
This is important to prevent goods from rolling off the conveyor station
unintentionally.
