A.2 Other OBP Environment Variables
Boot-wait-time is measured in seconds. The default value is zero.
To check or set a value, enter the appropriate command at the OBP “ok” prompt.
l
To check the current boot-wait-time value, enter the following command:
ok printenv boot-wait-time
- When the boot-wait-time value is set to zero, the following message appears:
boot-wait-time=0
l
To set the boot-wait-time value, enter the following command. (This example uses
300 seconds as the boot-wait-time being set.)
ok setenv boot-wait-time 300
(2)
diag-retry
If an error is detected in accessing the boot-up disk unit during the boot-up process of
the main unit, attempts to shut down and reboot the target disk through a retry process
may possibly run the target disk.
In this situation, if the diag-retry value is set to on and the system is configured to
enable automatic shutdown and then reboot, the retry process will proceed. The
default value for this variable is off.
(3)
boot-device
Sets the boot-up target disks. This value is set by the install program during the OS
installation. This setting is enabled when the value of the diag-switch? parameter of
the OBP environment variable is set to false.
(4)
boot-file
Sets a boot file. This setting is enabled when the value of diag-switch? in the OBP
environment is set to false.
(5)
scsi-initiator-id
Set the host side address of the SCSI bus. The range is from 0 to 7. The default value
is 7.
(6)
local-mac-address?
If the value is true, the network driver uses its own MAC address. If the value is false,
a MAC address of the system is applied. The main unit applies the MAC address
assigned to each partition.
The default value is false.
