7.6.2. Processing infected messages
for an address group
7.6.2.1. General
concept
Every e-mail message contains sender and recipient addresses. These
features of a message define the processing rules to be applied to it. In
fact, these processing rules (settings) are predefined for the address group.
Therefore, you must insure the addresses are included in the right address
group.
The address groups and the appropriate settings are defined in the Keeper
configuration that can be changed using the WebTuner program (for details
refer to subchapter 10.10). For details on how to add an address to a group
see subchapter 7.6.2.2.
The address group to which a message belongs must contain both the
message From and To addresses. The program studies the address group
lists while searching for the message addresses. When addresses (the
sender and the recipient) are detected, the program applies the group
processing rules to the message.
The search for a message’s addresses in the address group is
performed in compliance with POSIX REGEXP.
For the program to apply special processing rules to messages with certain
To and From addresses, you must create a group section within the
initialization file above all the other address groups, add these addresses to
the group and define the appropriate processing rules for this group (for
example, if you need to apply a certain processing rule exactly for the
messages delivered from
to
123@localhost2.ru
).
The
default
address group is mandatory for the Keeper address group list,
since this section defines default settings to be applied to all the message
addresses not included in the other groups. Make sure to place this
address group below all the other groups in the list.
The processing sequence that is applied by Keeper to a message is as
follows:
1. The program searches for the message address in the user
defined address groups. If or when the address is detected,
