B.4.27 SETETHPROTOCOL
Set Eth1 Protocol
The SPAN-SE has a 10/100 RJ-45 Ethernet port, which has a MAC address hard coded into flash and
user-configurable IP information. Port 3000 can be used for both TCP and UDP traffic but not
simultaneously. You must configure the system for either UDP or TCP communication and the
system
must be restarted
. The default is TCP.
To configure the ETH1 transport protocol, use the SETETHPROTOCOL command with its one non-
optional parameter.
IMPORTANT!: You must manually reset the system for this setting to take effect using the
RESET command or a power cycle. See also the RESET command on Page 122.
