Working with AT Commands
6.3.1
Syntax
The AT command language is a standard for controlling modems. It is text based.
Each command line begins with
AT
(for ATtention) followed by the actual
command and ending with [ENTER].
Example:
ATD444444 [ENTER]
Meaning:
select (D for Dial) 444444
There are only 2 exceptions to this rule:
•
The command
+++
to switch to command phase
• Command
A/
with which the command line entered last
is
repeated.
6.3.2
Command Phase, Transparent Phase
The device only recognizes AT commands when in the command phase.
The device is in the command phase when:
•
There is not connection.
•
The sequence Pause
+++
is entered during a connection.
The device does not accept any AT commands if in transparent phase.
The device is in the transparent phase when:
•
There is a connection.
•
The device is switched to the command phase using
+++
during an existing
connection and then back into the transparent phase using
ATO
.
6.3.3
Switch ON/OFF Local Echo
To see your entries on the screen, turn the local data echo on if necessary.
Give the following command to the device:
ATE1
You can use the following command to turn the local data echo off again:
ATE0
