Connection Object ( Class : 0x05 )
This section presents the externally visible characteristics of the
connection objects associated with the Predefined Master/Slave Connection
Set within slave devices. With the I-7242D, the “Connection” object has up to
four instances (Instance ID 0x01 to 0x04). Each of these instances represents
one of the two ends of a virtual connection established between two nodes on
the DeviceNet network. Each instance of this object belongs to one of the two
following types of connection: Explicit connection, allowing
Explicit Messages
to be sent, or
I/O Connections
. This object is described in chapter 5-4 of
volume I of the DeviceNet specifications.
Here is a brief description of the four instances of the I-7242D’s
“Connection” object, and then details are given in the rest of this chapter:
