Command
work on the primary expander but only some commands are available on the
secondary expanders. For example, “show fw”, “sec1 show fw” and “sec2 show
fw” will all work. However, “show leds” will work since it is sent to the primary
expander but “sec1 show leds” will not work since it is set to the secondary
expander 1. The command “help show” identifies what commands work with
the secondary expanders.
vpd provides Vital Product Data (VPD) about the enclosure. “vpd set” will
provide all available vpd fields. Encl in front of the field means it is in the
vpd
enclosure VPD (Drive board). Iom in front of the field means it’s in the ESMs
VPD.
Configure allow you to do some configuration of the enclosure.
configure
Set/Display enclosure configuration values. The following configuration options
are supported:
• thermalShutdownDrives: All, Single. In the event of a thermal event
on a single disk, shutdown the single drive or all the drives.
• thermalShutdownAction: SpinDown, PowerOff. To either spin
down or turn of the disk in the case of a thermal event.
• iomConfiguration: Dual. Set the enclosure to single or dual mode
and allow LED functionality according to the mode it is in. Dual mode
means 2 ESMs which would be a SAS configuration.
• iomManual: True means to specifically set the iomConfiguration to
what is set above. False means to detect what mode the enclosure
is in (dual) by checking what type of drives are installed. If any SAS
drives are installed at startup, it will default to dual mode.
Ipconfig will show what ip configurations are set and also allows the user to
change the IP settings like static IP address or to get an IP address from DHCP.
ipconfig
It allows you to set the IP address to a different number if required and will
also show the MAC address of the port.
