Quick Start Guide
Integra Series 17
c.
Select the thermocouple type: K, J, N, B, S, R, E, or T.
d.
Select the reference junction (JUNC):
• Select SIM if using a simulated reference junction (e.g., ice bath).
You will then be prompted to enter the temperature of the simulated
junction. For example, if using an ice bath, set the simulated temper-
ature to 0°C (or 32°F or 273K).
• Select INT if the thermocouple is connected to a Keithley switching
module that has a cold junction, such as the Model 7700.
e.
Enable (Y) or disable open thermocouple detection (OPEN DET). When
enabled, an open thermocouple will display the OVRFLW message.
4.
Reading
– Take a reading from the display.
NOTE
Thermocouples cannot be directly connected to the front panel inputs.
In order to use front panel inputs for thermocouple temperature mea-
surements, a simulated reference junction (such as an ice bath) must
be used (see Section 3 of the Model 27xx User’s Manual for details).
Thermocouples can be directly connected to a Keithley switching
module that has a cold junction for thermocouples (such as the
Keithley 7707 switching module). Details on the “
SCPI programming commands (temperature)
NOTE
Not all temperature commands are documented here. For details on
all temperature commands, refer to the Model 27xx User’s Manual
(see Section 3).
